The filtering allows certain machines and sensor types to be used to acquire point cloud data and different sensor types to be used during surface construction and modification. By a method for repairing wheel tracks on paved roads (2), initially a fraction of relatively large roadstones (3) are laid on the bottom of the track (1). Then a graduated amount of binder is laid across the track (1) and along the side edges of the track such that the greater amount of binder is laid on the areas where the track (1) is the deepest. Finally, a layer of roadstones (4) with lesser particle size is laid across the track (1) and along the side edges. By the method there is achieved possibility of repairing deeper wheel tracks on road surfaces without having to cut the surface up and then lay hot asphalt. By the method according to the invention there is achieved an even surface with satisfactory drainage. The solution is more durable than by application of cold asphalt in wheel tracks since thicker binder films are achieved.

A machine for detecting and levelling ground depressions, by spreading of suitable material, is constituted essentially by: a bucket (4) fit to be rotated into the loading and distribution positions of the filling material; a distributing device (9) of the material to be spread; a rotating spreader (13); a ground touching device, that determines the automatic spreading of the material, when a wide dimension depression is detected. The touching device is adjustable, in such a way to allow the regulation of the intervention threshold. Besides, the machine is fit to spread uniformly the filling material onto the whole ground.

The system may include a first sensor configured to generate a first signal indicative of a position of the cold planer; a production monitoring system associated with the cold planer and configured to determine a milling rate of the cold planer; a communication device configured to exchange information between the cold planer and the paver; and a controller. The controller may be configured to receive a second signal indicative of a position of the paver and a third signal indicative of a paving rate of the paver, determine a current distance between the cold planer and the paver based on the first and second signals, determine a target distance based on the current distance and a comparison of the milling rate and the paving rate, and determine a difference between the target distance and the current distance.

A system and device, paving machine (1), is disclosed for obtaining a topographical profile of a road bed, and then delivering an asphalt mat that varies in thickness according to that profile. The system enables variance in the mat thickness across the width of the mat as well as in the normal longitudinal direction. The process is begun by obtaining a three-dimensional profile of the surface to be paved. A scanning means (10) is moved over the road surface to obtain a profile of the entire length and width of the surface to be paved to obtain a detailed topographical profile. In a second phase of the operation, the scanning means (10) is utilized in combination with an asphalt delivery mechanism, and a mat of asphalt of varying thickness is delivered.
