摘要: An overflow system for a hopper dredger comprises an overflow tube; an inlet for taking in head water from the hopper; and a collector to collect the flow of head water entering the inlet and guide the flow to the overflow tube. The collector comprises a substantially horizontal top portion which delineates a top of a flowpath for head water into the collector to ensure substantially radial flow into the collector. At least one of the overflow tube and the inlet is adjustable for controlling flow into the overflow system.

摘要: A loader (10) has lift arms (24) that are used for mounting a number of different attachments (55, 72, 78, 88, 96, 170). The attachments can be mounted to the rear of the forward end (38) of the lift arms in order to move the center of gravity of the attachment more directly over the loader frame. Various types of attachments can be used, as shown, and can be controlled to be pivoted for dumping or loading, and can be raised and lowered on the lift arms. Also disclosed is an attachment (55) mounted pivotally on the lift arms and connected by a link (58) to the loader frame (12), so that when the liftarms are raised the attachment tilts.

摘要: A soil modifying machine having a machine body (20) to which are disposed a soil hopper (28), a soil conveyer (27) for conveying a soil to be modified from the soil hopper (28), a soil conditioner supply device (29) for supplying a soil conditioner to the soil and a mixer (22) for crushing and mixing the conveyed soil and the soil conditioner to obtain a modified soil, wherein the mixer (22) is provided with a soil cutter device (32) and an impact hammer (33) and the soil cutter device (32) comprises a drum (45) and a cutter (46) mounted to an outer peripheral surface of the drum (45). The cutter (46) is disposed near an endless belt member (36) of the soil conveyer (27) to make small a gap between the endless belt member (36) and the drum (45) so that a large lump in the material soil having a large particle size does not pass this gap. According to such structure, since the large lump of soil does not fall to the impact hammer (33), the soil can be crushed and mixed by the impact hammer so that the soil conditioner can be fully infiltrated into the soil, thus the soil condition being effectively modified as a modified soil to be recycled as backfill or roadbed material.

摘要: A trench-padding method (302, 304) and apparatus (1) provide a more efficient, cost efficient process of obtaining a maximal amount of padding material from material (16) excavated from a trench (21), and where selected, provide for trenching. The trench-padding apparatus includes a lead assembly (2) that includes a feeder housing (4) having a front rotating unit (5) with protrusions. The feeder housing (4) may be configured to excavate the trench or, alternatively, to scoop up previously excavated material. The front rotating unit (5) is attached to a frame of the trench-padding apparatus immediately in front of an elevator device (6), and the front rotating unit (5) forces clumps of the excavated material between the front rotating unit (5) and a base (7) of the feeder housing (4) to aid in reducing clump size. The method (302, 304) operates in the manner of the trench-padding apparatus.
