    摘要: A system and method for processing a fluid, including decontaminating water and generating water vapor includes introducing the fluid into a vessel. The fluid is moved through a series of rotating trays alternately separated by stationary baffles so as to swirl and heat the fluid to effect the vaporization thereof to produce a vapor having at least some of the contaminants separated therefrom. The vapor is removed from the vessel for condensing apart from the separated contaminants and the remaining water. The vapor may be passed through a turbine connected to an electric generator. Sensors in a controller may be employed to adjust the speed of rotation of the trays or fluid input into the vessel in response to the sensed conditions. The treated fluid may be recirculated and reprocessed through the vessel to increase the purification thereof.

    摘要: A tank for separating solids from a suspension of solids in a liquid, comprises an upper region containing a multiplicity of inclined plates 9 and a lower region for collecting solids settling from the upper region. The tank lower region has a sloping bottom 3 and the tank also includes an inlet 16 for introducing a suspension into the tank, a liquid outlet 19 and a plurality of solids outlets 22 at different fixed positions at the bottom of the tank for removing separated solids. Preferably the liquid entering the tank through the inlet is effluent treated to precipitate the solids as flocs which settle on the plates and then slide into the lower region of the tank. A suction pump may be connected to each of the solids outlets and used at intervals to remove solids collected in the vicinity of the solids outlet. Advantageously the tank is a mobile unit and includes lifting devices 20, 21 to enable the tank to be lifted by a fork-lift truck or a crane.

    摘要: A microbial, sampling, filtration and recovery device (10) which utilizes a wash solution on meat carcasses and a vacuum source to vacuum the wash solution and suspended microbes into a collection device. The device (10) includes pre-filters (24 and 26) for removing debris, and a microbial filter (42). The size of the microbial filter (42) seriously reduces air flow, an alternate route for air is provided through a hydrophobic filter (36). Bacteria captured in the filter is backflushed into a collection vessel, where it is concentrated in a subsequent centrifuge step. The concentrated microbial sample is available for use in rapid detection methods.
