摘要: A two-stroke internal combustion engine is disclosed having opposed cylinders, each cylinder having a pair of opposed pistons, with all the pistons connected to a common central crankshaft. The inboard pistons of each cylinder are connected to the crankshaft with pushrods and the outboard pistons are connected to the crankshaft with pullrods. Each opposed cylinder further comprises an integrated scavenge pump for providing positive intake pressure. This configuration results in a compact engine with a very low profile, in which the free mass forces can be substantially balanced. The engine configuration also allows for asymmetrical timing of the intake and exhaust ports through angular positioning of the journals on the crankshaft.

摘要: The invention relates to a novel combustion engine having at least one cylinder system (1) comprising a working cylinder (2) and a piston (3) which is movable in an axial direction in the working cylinder (2) and the stroke of which is converted into a rotary movement of an engine shaft (7). The inventive combustion engine also comprises at least one controlled inlet (13) feeding a fresh air-fuel mixture into the working area (5) and at least one controlled outlet (14) evacuating the exhaust gases. The at least one inlet (13) is formed by at least one opening of at least one transfer port (12) which is connected to a chamber compressing the air-gas mixture.

The characteristic feature is that the engine is a two-stroke one but operates with pure fuel without any addition of oil, whereupon the lubrication is forced as it is with the well known four-stroke engines, and possesses an inherent supercharging which enables to be employed as a gasoline or diesel engine.
