Abstract:
It is an object of the present invention to accurately position a cylinder of a high-pressure fuel pump with respect to an attachment fitting hole provided in an engine block of an internal combustion engine in mounting the pump on the engine block. The high-pressure fuel pump of the invention is provided with a holder including: an outer cylindrical surface portion fitted to a high-pressure fuel pump attachment fitting hole installed on an engine block of the internal combustion engine; and a cylindrical fitting portion fitted to an outer circumference of the cylinder of the pump. The holder is configured such that the outer cylindrical surface portion and the cylindrical fitting portion are formed in a single piece resulting from machining one and the same member. Such a configuration can achieve the above-mentioned object. The central axis of an insertion hole of the piston plunger installed in the cylinder easily provides coaxiality with respect to the central axis of the attachment fitting hole installed in the engine block of the internal combustion engine. Biting and wear between the cylinder and the piston plunger, which are caused by the side force applied to the piston plunger by a drive mechanism, can be reduced.

Abstract:
A fuel injection valve damping insulator damps vibration produced in a fuel injection valve (11). A damping insulator (30) is interposed between a shoulder portion (18) of a cylinder head and a tapered surface (24) of the fuel injection valve (11) that faces the shoulder portion. The damping insulator (30) includes an annular tolerance ring (33) that abuts against the tapered surface (24), and an elastic member (36) that is arranged between the tolerance ring (33) and the shoulder portion (18). An annular coil spring (34) and a sleeve (35) are each embedded juxtaposed in the elastic member (36). A height (H2) of the sleeve (35) is formed lower than an outer diameter (HI) of individual small ring portions that form a helix of the coil spring (34), and at least one of a tolerance ring (33) side and a shoulder portion (18) side of the sleeve (35) is buried in the elastic member (36).

Abstract:
Provided is an end seal structure of a fuel rail for a gasoline direct injection engine, the fuel rail being constructed and arranged such that an end or both ends of a rail body composed of a tubular body such as a pipe is/are closed by an end cap or end caps, the end seal structure having a simple structure, making it possible for the end cap portion to meet higher pressure requirements. The end seal structure is characterized in that: a pressure receiving surface is formed on an inner wall surface of the end cap having the cap-nut shape, the pressure receiving surface defining a seat surface; a pressing surface is formed at an end of the rail body, the pressing surface defining a seat surface facing the pressure receiving surface; the end cap having the cap-nut shape and including the pressure receiving surface is screwed and fixed to the rail body; and the pressure receiving surface of the end cap is brought into pressure contact with the pressing surface of the rail body by an axial force created by tightening of the end cap having the cap-nut shape so as to seal the end of the rail body.
Abstract:
An engine apparatus includes an exhaust gas purifier configured to purify exhaust gas from an engine. The exhaust gas purifier is mounted on the engine with a longitudinal direction of the exhaust gas purifier being orthogonal to an output shaft of the engine. A cooling fan is disposed on one side surface of the engine that intersects the output shaft. The exhaust gas purifier is supported by a cylinder head at a portion on an upper surface of the engine that is closer to the cooling fan.
