摘要: A fluid controller comprising a self sealing valve is disclosed. The fluid controller includes a rim that defines a fluid passage for a flow of fluid inflation and deflation of an inflatable bladder. A diaphragm is configured to seal the fluid passage, and the self sealing valve also includes at least one extension configured to extend over the diaphragm to limit a deflection of the diaphragm in a direction away from the interior of the inflatable bladder to maintain a substantially fluid-tight seal between the diaphragm and the rim under increased pressure within the inflatable bladder.

Through use of an ablated flap, the flap characteristics can be better fashioned to achieve desired valve performance. The valve flap can be fashioned to remain closed under any orientation but also to open with minimal force or pressure from the flow stream. A valve having these qualities provides a valve can operate more efficiently, which may be particularly beneficial when used one respiratory masks where the valve is powered by the wearer.

摘要: A dry trap valve, such as usable in a non-flushing urinal and other drains, is employed to transport a fluid, such as urine or other wastewater to a sewer line for receipt and disposal of the wastewater. The dry trap valve includes a holder (e.g., a band holder) having an entry for receipt of the wastewater, a drain for disposal of the wastewater, a passageway (e.g., dent, depression or bypass) for conducting the wastewater from the entry to the drain, and an element e.g., a sealing band) for sealingly covering the passageway. The sealing band includes a hinged portion adjacent the lower end of the dent and is disposed to articulate upon flow of the wastewater from the dent and to permit the wastewater to flow to the drain and to close in the absence of the wastewater flow. Gases from the sewer line also press upon the sealing band in the absence of wastewater flow to further seal the dent. Thus, the memory of the elastomeric material is not essential but, rather, the forces of gravity and the force of the sewer gas keeps the passage closed to the sewer gases that would otherwise back up through the valve.

摘要: An inflation valve assembly (110), for a dunnage or cargo air bag, comprises an annular flange member (112) which is adapted to be heat-sealed to an interior surface portion of one of the plies of the inflatable bladder of the air bag, and an externally threaded nipple portion (116) for fluidic connection to a source of pressurized fluid for inflating the bladder of the dunnage or cargo air bag. The inflation valve assembly also has a substantially C-shaped upstanding ring member (118) integrally disposed upon the upper surface portion (120) of the annular flange member (112), and a substantially planar, disc-type flapper valve member (122), having a substantially circular configuration, has an end portion which is adapted to be fixedly secured upon an arcuate portion (126) of the upper surface portion (120) of the annular flange member by means of a fixation bar (128) which extends along a chordal extent of the annular flange member. Opposite end portions of the fixation bar (128) project radially inwardly toward each other so as to effectively define a pair of oppositely disposed detents (134) for maintaining the flapper valve (122) member in its OPENED state. Accordingly, the height dimension or depth profile of the new and improved inflation valve assembly of the present invention is able to be substantially reduced so as to enable the inflation valve assembly to readily facilitate the sealing of the inflatable bladder during the fabrication thereof.
