    摘要: A pipe coupling 10 for straddling and securing together facing ends 16a,18a of a pair of pipes 16,18 of substantially cylindrical profile. The coupling has a plurality of segments 12,14 each having a pair of axially-spaced arcuate surfaces 32,34 adapted to interface with the outer surfaces of the pipes, and connection members 24,26 for adjustably drawing together the ends of the segments 12,14. Spacers 230 are positioned between the conjoined ends of the segments to maintain them in a sufficiently spaced apart relation to allow the pipe ends 16a,18a to be inserted therebetween. The spacers 230 collapse on subsequent tightening of the connection members 24,26, to permit the arcuate surfaces 32,34 to engage the outer surfaces 20,22 of the pipes 16,18 inserted between the segments 12,14.

A second raised feature (22), engageable with the pipe element extends circumferentially about the outer roller body (16) and projects radially from the first axis (18), the second raised feature (22) being positioned adjacent to the first raised feature (20). Further, the inner roller (12) comprises an inner roller body (64) rotatable about a second axis (66). A first depression (70) extends circumferentially around the inner roller body (64). A second depression (72) extends circumferentially around the inner roller body (64) and is positioned adjacent to the first depression (70). A projection (84) extends circumferentially around the inner roller body (64) and projects radially from the second axis (66), the projection (84) being positioned between the first and second depressions (70,72) and having a radius greater than the radius of a portion of the inner roller (12) proximate to the second depression (72). The inner and outer rollers (12,14) cooperate to form the region of the pipe element whereby the first and second raised features (20,22) align respectively with the first and second depressions (70,72).
