The method comprises removing at least one original end fitting component (310, 335) from a multicomponent end fitting, secured to flexible pipe body at an end of a flexible pipe, leaving a retained portion (330, 360) of the end fitting in situ and subsequently securing at least one superseding end fitting component (310, 335) to the retained portion thereby providing a new fluid tight seal against a fluid retaining layer of the flexible pipe at a new sealing location axially displaced from an original sealing location.

Manufacturing a collapse resistant hose arrangement includes fabricating a hose around a flexible conduit having a spiral-wound interlock configuration. Fabricating the hose includes extruding a first polymer layer over the flexible conduit; cooling the first polymer layer; extruding a second polymer layer over the first polymer layer after the first polymer layer has cooled to form a core tube around the flexible conduit; and extruding an outer sheath around the core tube. In certain examples, the first polymer layer is sufficiently thin as to not flow into an interfering relationship with the spiral-wound interlock configuration of the flexible conduit during cooling.

The present invention relates to an offshore pipe system comprising a first unbonded flexible pipe and a second unbonded flexible pipe for transportation of fluids such as oil or gas. Each of the unbonded flexible pipes comprises a sealing sheath and an electrically conductive armor layer, and, moreover, the system comprises a first end fitting connected to the first end of the first unbonded flexible pipe and a second end fitting connected to the first end of the second unbonded flexible pipe. In the offshore pipe system the electrically conductive armor layer of the first unbonded flexible pipe is electrically connected with the electrically conductive armor layer of the second unbonded flexible pipe via a first electrical connection and a second electrical connection. To obtain an electrical circuit the first and second electrical connections are applied with a distance along the length of the first unbonded flexible pipe and the second unbonded flexible pipe, respectively. The invention also relates to a method for heating pipes by forming an electrical circuit between the pipes.
