Erfindungsgemäß ist die Befestigungseinrichtung aus einem oder mehreren in Umfangsrichtung wenigstens einmal unterbrochenen eigenstabilen Segment oder Segmenten ausgebildet. Wenigstens eine in Umfangsrichtung wirkende Spanneinrichtung ist vorgesehen, über welche der Umfang der Befestigungseinrichtung veränderbar ist.

The invention relates to a gripping device for use in pressing together in a high-powered operation two radially protruding ends of a hose clamp consisting of a spring wire, which is wound into a single loop or coil, the diameter of which can be increased by pressing together the two ends of spring wire. The gripping device has a rigid jaw (1) and hinged (12) hereto, a movable jaw (13), said jaws (1, 13) having gripping devices at their free ends (4, 19) to grip its respective end of spring wire of the hose clamp. The relative movement of the jaws if controlled by links (8, 17a), against which a first roller (25) and a second roller (26) can bear, said rollers (25, 26) being seated in a roller head (21), which is movable in parallel with the link (8) of the rigid jaw (1) of a piston rod (22) of a work cylinder. During movement the first roller (25) bears against the link (8), and the second roller (26) against the link (17a), as a result of which the friction between the individual parts of the gripping device is reduced to a minimum. In addition hereto, the power of the movable jaw will increase with the degree of closure without increasing the power produced by the work cylinder.

Apertures 14 , 15 are provided in the overlying band portion for engagement by the tab-like members 13a , 13b and the support hook 12 . The tab-like members 13a , 13b have a height when bent up which is sufficiently greater than the thickness of the overlying band portion. The invention concerns a device designed to secure packaging strips round packets of individual items, using a flexible element with a joint zone which runs at right angles to the wrapping direction and which can be bridged by the securing device. The securing device consists of locking strips which are detachably connected to each other and which have interlocking drawing-in and clamping means plus a handle, one element of which is attached to the free end of one locking strip while another element is attached to the free end of another locking strip which works in conjunction with the first. In order to provide a device of this kind which is simple in design and easy to use and, in addition, offers a high degree of security against accidental opening, the invention proposes that the first element (1) is a strip-shaped element with teeth (2) and that the second element (3) is a securing unit with an insertion channel for the first element (1) and a flexible arm (4) which extends into the insertion channel to act as a lock catch. The flexible arm (4) extends along the insertion channel and its free end points towards the end of the insertion channel which is remote from the end at which insertion takes place. Mounted on the securing unit is a pivoting handle (7) by means of which the flexible arm (4) can be bent out of engagement with the first element (1) and by means of which the flexible arm (4) can be locked in unflexing engagement with the first element (1).
