摘要: There is disclosed a controller 100 for a refrigeration circuit 10, configured to monitor a set of prevailing conditions 50 relating to the refrigeration circuit including a space temperature of a temperature-controlled space associated with the refrigeration circuit. The controller 100 has a simulation module 102 configured to determine a limit setting 152 of a control variable for the refrigeration circuit by an iterative optimisation procedure based on a model 110 corresponding to the refrigeration circuit. The objective function for the optimisation relates to an operating efficiency. The controller further comprises a dynamic control module 160 configured to: adjust an operating setting of the control variable within an operating range to target a performance threshold for a monitored performance parameter, based on monitoring of the performance parameter during operation of the refrigeration circuit; and apply the limit setting received from the simulation module as a limit to the operating range.

摘要: Preventing freezing in a heat exchanger can include passing first and second cooling fluids through the heat exchanger, monitoring a temperature and/or pressure of the second cooling fluid entering the heat exchanger, heating the second cooling fluid entering the heat exchanger by opening a valve when the monitored temperature and/or monitored pressure is below a trigger temperature and/or trigger pressure, and closing the valve when a condition is met. The first cooling fluid can have a first freezing temperature and the second cooling fluid can have a second, lower freezing temperature. Opening the valve can cause the second cooling fluid, in gaseous phase, to mix with the second cooling fluid, in liquid phase, upstream of the heat exchanger.

摘要: The present disclosure provides for hyperloop vapor cycle environmental control systems (ECS) and related methods. More particularly, the present disclosure provides for hyperloop vapor cycle environmental control systems and methods, with the hyperloop vapor cycle environmental control systems and methods configured without a compressor needed to pump a refrigerant through the system and configured without a condenser heat exchanger needed to condense gas refrigerant to a liquid to reject the heat of compression of a compressor to the ambient atmosphere. Since there is no need for a compressor, the example hyperloop ECS of the present disclosure requires only a small fraction of the electrical power of a standard vapor cycle air conditioning system. Power is needed substantially only for the ECS controller and some various valves.
