According to the present invention, vibration and noise of the heat pump system (100) may be reduced effectively, and the overall service life thereof may be improved.

The apparatus provides a drying apparatus for drying a fibrous or granular material comprising, a heater arranged to heat a first gas stream and a fibrous material, the first gas stream arranged to enter the drying apparatus at an inlet, the gas stream including steam. A separator is provided for separating a said fibrous material from the first gas stream to form a second gas stream, and a fan and a duct are arranged to recirculate the second gas stream to the process heater steam injection apparatus. A flow variation apparatus is arranged to vary the flow of gas in a first gas stream and improve the drying function due to increased heat and mass transfer between the gas stream and the tobacco product.

The method comprises a step for drying, by heating, the sludge or other substance to be dried, and during the drying step, the evaporate produced by drying the sludge during the drying step is used at least partially to heat the sludge. Moreover, the sludge, before being dried, is preferably preheated by using the evaporate or condensate that derives from the evaporate used earlier to dry the sludge. In this manner, since a large fraction of the heat contained in the evaporate generated by the drying of the sludge is recovered, it is possible to contain significantly the heat, and therefore the energy, required to dry the sludge or other substance.

The invention concerns a method and an installation for drying fibrous material (14). The method comprises a step which consists in ventilating (1) through the fibrous material (14) located in a drying zone (13), very moist air. The moisture content of the moist air is less than that inside the drying zone, its pressure close to atmospheric pressure and its temperature is higher than that of the material to be dried. The method further comprises a step which consists in recovering (22, 6) the condensation heat of the water vapour extracted from the fibrous material to heat the moist air, providing leaks (9, 10, 36, 43) between outside ambient air and said ventilation circuit upstream and downstream of the drying zone enabling mass and heat exchange. It is possible to ensure thermal and mass balance without expelling into ambient air large amounts of moist air.

The aim of said invention is to reduce equipment for dehydrating and drying sludge for producing cement clinker from wet-ground cement raw meal in the form of sludge, in particular during transformation of existent sludge dewatering equipment into sludge drying equipment and, first of all during thermal drying sludge in order to maintain the heat loss associated with the formation of exhaust vapours as low as possible. For this purpose, raw meal sludge is dried in a vapour flow dryer (15) by circulating exhaust vapour which, prior to introduction thereof into the low part of the dryer (15), is heated by indirect heat transmission from gaseous flows of a pre-heating system by suspending in a gas cyclone of a clinker production line. A partial vapour flow (25) corresponding to water evaporated during raw meal sludge drying is removed from the steam circuit and extracted in the form of a condensate (28) after increasing the vapour temperature by a vapour condenser (26) and the passage of vapour arranged in the dryer (15) through the heating surface (27) of the vapour condenser.

Der beim Trocknen des Klärschlammes entweichende Dampf wird abgeleitet und einem Kompressor (10) zugeleitet. Wärmeenergie des komprimierten und dadurch erhitzten Dampfes wird dem zu trocknenden Klärschlamm zugeführt. Kondensat wird abgeleitet. Es ist vorgesehen, daß das Kondensat aufgefangen wird. Wärmeenergie des Kondensates wird dem Klärschlamm zur Unterstützung einer Vorentgasung vor der Trocknung zugeführt. Eine Einrichtung zur Durchführung des Verfahrens sieht einen mit einem Rohrregister aus Wärmetauscherrohren (53) für den komprimierten Dampf ausgestatteten Drehrohrreaktor (5) vor, dem eine Vorrichtung zur Vorentgasung, insbesondere ein Knetreaktor (2), vorgeschaltet ist. Mit einer Kondensatableitung (12) des Rohrregisters steht eine Mantelheizung (4) der Vorrichtung zur Vorentgasung in Verbindung.
