Abstract:
A page reproducing method and an apparatus therefor in which a plate format and a holder indexing table are managed within a computer in a united manner, it is made possible to automatically reproduce a copy each page and each page on the basis of plate format data and holder indexing data, an attempt is made to save power or labor and efficiency of making-out operation, and operation mistakes can be eliminated. The page reproducing method comprises a step 23 of inputting data required to reproduce page information of a plurality of pages to make a single plate, such as an order of pages allocated to the plate or the like, to thereby set machine-plate format data, a holder-indexing setting step 24 of making out holder indexing data on the basis of at least data of the number of total pages of a printed matter and data of the number of reproductions every plates, and a plate-information making-out step 26 of allocating page information made out previously on the basis of the machine-plate format data and holder indexing data, to make out machine-plate information required for making out.
Abstract:
Apparatus and method for exposing at least a portion of a fully imposed flat is described. The apparatus includes a) apparatus for creating a plurality of partial flats forming sections of the portion of the fully imposed flat, the partial flats being described in a first page description language, b) apparatus for converting the plurality of partial flats from the first to a second page description language, thereby creating a plurality of converted partial flats and c) large format exposing apparatus, having an initial exposure position, for sequentially receiving and exposing the plurality of converted partial flats and for returning to the initial exposure position only after exposure of the entirety of the plurality of converted partial flats.
Abstract:
The method of the present invention allows a printing process based on the principle of superimposition to be carried out at high accuracy without requiring any difficult registration work. By using a single original paper sheet for stencil printing having a plurality of original images formed in different regions thereon at a predefined positional relationship, stencil master plates based on the original images are formed in different regions of a stencil master plate sheet assembly without changing the positional relationship between the stencil master plate sheet assembly and the original paper sheet.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for electronic impositioning is described. The apparatus includes a) apparatus for receiving a plurality of images of pages to be printed wherein each image occupies a corresponding printing rectangle of predetermined size, b) apparatus for associating with each image an imposition window of the size of the corresponding printing rectangle, c) apparatus for receiving a plurality of the imposition windows and for generating at least a portion of a flat template therefrom and d) apparatus for replacing each of the imposition windows with the appropriate one of the plurality of images, thereby to create at least a portion of an imposed flat.
Abstract:
A storage battery, particularly adapted for automotive applications, includes unique cover, venting and terminal constructions which, in their various embodiments, can accommodate virtually any automobile cable arrangement. Each of the several embodiments utilizes an identical container (10), electrode construction, intercell assembly and venting arrangement. Various types of exterior battery terminals (39), accommodating both conventional pressure clamps and threaded connectors, are connected to the battery electrodes through an intermediate primary cover (31). An outer secondary cover (43) encloses the entire top of the battery, except for direct access to the exterior terminals (39), and the venting assembly is totally enclosed between the primary (31) and secondary covers (43).
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the electronic assembly of forms by means of an assembly station. Used as the assembly station is a work station which is connected to a server via a local-area network. The assembly station is used to impose the pages to give a form, creating a PostScript form file which contains all the data necessary for the form to be printed at a printing station. Individual PostScript pages are stored successively in one or more print-to-disk files as PostScript job in the server. The print-to-disk file or files are loaded via the local-area network into the assembly station together with data indicating which pages are being loaded and what position each page occupies in its print-to-disk file. At the assembly station, a first PostScript form file is created which, instead of the contents of the individual pages in the print-to-disk file or files, contains imposing commands which indicate where the individual pages should be located in the form and where the individual pages are in the print-to-disk file or files. The first PostScript form file thus created is transmitted via the local-area network to the server where a second PostScript form file is created by using the imposing commands to call up the contents of the pages in the form from the print-to-disk file or files in the server and insert them into the first PostScript form file transmitted from the assembly station to the server at the places where they should be located in the form. This second PostScript form file is then transmitted by the server to the printing station for the form to be printed.
Abstract:
The platemaking system is a system that produces a printing plate by using an exposure device 8 to print on original film that has imposition data consisting of multiple page data imposed on photosensitive film. The system is equipped with page data layout device 2 and exposure device 8. Page data layout device 2 indicates page layout data that contains positioning information and size information of each page data for the purpose of impositioning multiple page data on photosensitive film. Based on that page layout data, each page data is laid out at the imposition position of the photosensitive film, imposition data is created and the indicated page layout data is output to exposure device 8. Exposure device 8 receives the page layout data via network line NL and moves the original film to the corresponding position in accordance with the received page layout data after which the exposure process is carried out. The device is equipped with keyboard 14 to indicate page layout data for the purpose of impositioning multiple page data on original film. Page data layout device 2 lays out corresponding page data in response to page layout data when the page data corresponding to the page number specified by page layout data is prepared and then creates imposition data. Further, when the page data is not prepared, page data layout device 2 lays out dummy page data in response to page layout data in place of page data and then creates imposition data.
Abstract:
Provided is an apparatus for fabricating a pre-press masking film used for correcting a color printing plate which is formed slightly tilted by a scanner based on an image edited by a layout system. The apparatus comprises a coordinate data input unit for inputting coordinate data defining a trimming frame designated by the layout system, a tilt correcting unit for compensating for the tilt of the color printing plate by correcting the coordinate data, a unit for generating driving signals for forming a pre-press masking film based on the corrected coordinate data, and a cutter unit responsive to the driving signal for forming the pre-press masking film for cutting the masking film.
