摘要： The present invention is an electrostatographic reproduction apparatus which includes a primary imaging member for producing an electrostatic latent image, a development station for applying toner particles to said latent image which tonus a developed toner image, and a transfer station for transferring said developed toner image from the primary imaging member to a receiver. A fuser assembly is included for fixing the developed toner image to the receiver, to form a fused toner image on the receiver. An endless transport member is provided for transporting the receiver to or from the fuser assembly, the transport member having a substrate bearing an oil-absorbing porous layer that would tribocharge positively upon contact with negatively charged toner particles, and a porous overcoat outermost layer that does not tribocharge positively upon contact with negatively charged toner particles.

摘要： An improved release agent delivery apparatus (10) is disclosed for use in laser printers, plain paper copiers, facsimile machines, and similar printing apparatus. The delivery apparatus (10) comprises an absorbent textile core (24) filled with release agent, a permeable membrane (12) surrounding the textile core to form a sheathed wick member, and a mounting sleeve (14) adapted to attach the sheathed wick member in operative contact with the printer. The apparatus has numerous operational advantages over existing oil delivery apparatus, including providing multiple contact surfaces for longer operational life before replacement, ease in cleaning and regeneration, improved durability and reduced wear, and more compact and versatile operation.

摘要： A liquid metering and coating apparatus for use in a thermal toner fixation unit of a plain paper copier or printer. The apparatus consists of a release oil-supply roll (2) having a compliant and flexible porous permeation control layer and a cleaning blade (4). The cleaning blade (4) is mounted so as to contact the surface of the permeation control material. The cleaning blade removes excess toner and other incidental debris from the surface of the permeation control layer thereby providing a freshly cleaned surface from which controlled amounts of release oil are uniformly coated onto the surface of an adjacent contacting roll (1).

摘要： An oil transfer component for coating a fuser roll (2) in the fuser system of a plain paper copier (or laser printer) employs a porous polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) material formed from particles of granular-type polytetrafluoroethylene fused together such as to form a porous integral network of interconnected particles. It is usually in the form of a thin sheet of thickness 50-750 microns, optionally laminated to a backing material. It may be in roll form (6), either dry or pre-loaded with release oil, as a cover wick (20) for an oil reservoir (26), or laminated to a roller (30) or a reservoir material (40). The surface is textured to improve coating and wiping.

摘要： An oil supply device, usually a pad (32) or roller (30), for applying release oil to a fuser roll in a photocopying machine comprises an open-cell melamine foam reservoir (26) capable of operating at temperatures of 200 °C, having an oil-permeation control layer (14, 15) over the reservoir for controlling the supply of release oil. The oil permeation control layer may be a separate cover wick (20) or may be laminated by a layer (13) of adhesive to the reservoir (26). The device may be oil-fed or prefilled with oil. The oil permeation control layer is preferably a porous PTFE network formed by fusing granular-type PTFE particles.
