    摘要: An integrated circuit includes a holographic recording material substantially filling a cavity in a semiconductor layer. During operation of the integrated circuit, a holographic pattern in the holographic recording is reconstructed and used to diffract an optical signal propagating in a plane of an optical waveguide, which is defined in the semiconductor layer out of the plane through the cavity. In this way, the holographic recording material may be used to couple the optical signal to an optical fiber or another integrated circuit.

    摘要: A deformable membrane type of spatial light modulator (10) may be modified and used with a lens (16) for beam steering applications. A reflective membrane (11) is deformed by one or more of a multiplicity of underlying address electrodes (14), such that it has a different center of curvature depending on which electrode is being energized. An incoming beam is incident on the membrane and reflected from it. A lens (16) collimates light reflected from the membrane so that a beam is reflected in a desired direction relative to the incoming beam.

    摘要: A sight assembly for mounting to a weapon is provided. A holographic optical element and a light source are provided in a fixed angular configuration with respect to one another, but may be adjusted either together or individually in a horizontal or vertical direction. A mirror or lens may also be provided. An adjustment mechanism is provided where a shaft includes at least two portions wherein the two portions of the shaft of the screw have different pitch directions and/or pitch dimensions allowing for slight adjustment of the assembly. The light source is typically a vertical-cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL). The wavelength of the VCSEL is controlled by controlling the current it is given. The assembly further allows for perceived image distance adjustment using parallax mismatch. Further, a chassis is provided for holding holographic elements.
