    摘要: This Application relates generally to optical data storage and retrieval systems, and, more particularly, to systems utilizing microfiche storage elements. The principal drawback of prior art carousel microfiche systems is limited storage capacity. Although a number of retrieval devices may be interconnected and controlled by means of a computer, such an arrangement is cumbersome, uses storage space inefficiently and is expensive. The present application resides in a multiple-carousel microfiche storage and retrieval system in which a plurality of microfiche carousels (20) are disposed about a turntable (22) that is rotatable with respect to a retractable retrieval station. When a new microfiche is selected for display, the one presently being displayed is returned to its position in the carousel (20), the retrieval station is retracted, and the turntable (22) is rotat- i ed, if necessary, to find the next selected microfiche.

The encoding module includes a plurality of encoding elements arranged in an array of columns and rows and one or more switching elements configured to selectively connect the encoding elements to a reader. The connection of the encoding elements may be based on the location of a targeted transponder disposed among multiple adjacent transponders to ensure the selective communication with the targeted transponder only. The module is configured for various types and locations transponders to be used within a system, such as a printer-encoder. Each encoding element may include a loaded conductive strip comprising a loop shape portion and a shield that corresponds to the loop shape portion. In another embodiment, an access control system having an encoding module with the plurality of couplers and an access card having a plurality of transponders corresponding to the couplers is provided.

    摘要: A tag-label producing device includes a print head (23) for performing printing with respect to a print area (S) of a cover film (103), a loop antenna (LC) for performing transmission/reception of information to/from an RFID circuit element (To), and a tape feed roller (27) for imparting relative movement between the print head (23) or loop antenna (LC) and a tag label tape with print (109). At this time, a control circuit (110) determines the chronological sequence relation between the arrival of the RFID circuit element (To) at a communication position where transmission/reception of information is performed with respect to the loop antenna (LC), and the completion of the printing by the print head (23) with respect to the print area (S). In accordance with the result of this determination, the operation modes of the tape feed roller (27), loop antenna (LC), and print head (23) are switch-controlled in a coordinated fashion. The device further includes an installation holder that detachably installs a tag-medium accommodating member. The relative moving means feeds the tag-medium supplied from this member.
