The stabilising disk (20) is integrally made of a disk material, such as a hard wax mate- rial. The disk material is rigid at room temperature and malleable at a predetermined higher temperature. The stabilising disk (20) is manufactured by heating a precursor disk (10) positioned in the key cup (40) to at least said predetermined higher temperature while pressing the key cup (40) against the tone hole (61) with a counter piece (50) being positioned between the tone hole (61) and the precursor disk (10).

An acoustic timber for use in an acoustic musical instrument is constituted of a plurality of woody members, such as woody fibers, woody veneers, blasted bamboo fibers, and defibrated bamboo fibers, whose fiber length is 50 mm or more. An epoxy resin is impregnated into the woody members with an impregnation factor of 5 weight-percent through 50 weight-percent. The woody members impregnated with the epoxy resin are joined together by way of heating and compressive molding so that the fibers thereof are uniformly aligned in the desired fiber-aligning direction.

A pipe of a woodwind instrument (e.g., an upper joint of an oboe) having a through-hole running therethrough in its longitudinal direction is produced in such a way that a plastic lining layer composed of a thermoplastic material is formed on the interior wall of the pipe and the circumferential surfaces of tone holes of the pipe. The thermoplastic material is selected from generally-known plastic materials such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, ABS resin, and POM resin. This prevents the inside of the pipe from being excessively expanded due to a player's moist breath in playing the woodwind instrument; hence, it is possible to prevent cracks or flaws from occurring on the pipe. In addition, this structure is superior in manufacturability and suited to mass production.

A body of a mouthpiece (2) is produced by a method comprising checking the characteristics desirable for the body of the mouthpiece (2), providing a porous ceramic material having a first characteristics and an acrylic resin having a second characteristics, and impregnating the ceramic material with the acrylic resin followed by solidification, with adjusting at least one of the first characteristics, the second characteristics and the mixing ratio in the impregnation. The method allows the production without fail of a ceramic product having characteristics satisfactory for a certain application.

Un alésage parfaitement circulaire est formé par les surfaces intérieures (12, 42) des parties (10, 40) qui sont soudées ensemble le long de faces de butée (13, 43). Des gorges (17, 47) en forme de T ou de L sont situées dans les faces de butée qui forment des creux (77) lorsque les parties (10, 40) sont soudées ensemble. Les parties ont des formes caractéristiques intégralement moulées avec la partie correspondante (10, 40). Des touches moulées séparément (80, 90, 100) sont encliquetables dans les creux (70) situés dans le corps (70) et peuvent ainsi être fixées et remplacées facilement et sans l'utilisation d'outils.
