Decorative layers for use in practicing the invention include: (a) an anodized metal layer; or (b) a layer of material derived from plant or animal matter (e.g., wood, leather); or (c) an assortment of aggregate binder material (e.g., cement, mortar, epoxies) mixed with laser reactive materials (e.g., finely divided carbon); or (d) a ceramic layer; and (e) a layer of crystal fabric material. The cards may be dual interface smart cards which can be read in a contactless manner and/or via contacts.

Wax compositions are provided with improved properties for various applications, such as coating of composite cellulosic materials, e.g., composite wood material, particleboard, medium density fiberboard, construction board or combination thereof. As described herein, paraffin wax compositions are provided that have n-paraffin content of from about 30% wt to about 95% wt, and a 95% carbon number spread of from about 1 carbon atoms to about 23 carbon atoms, which provide enhanced water proofing properties as compared to waxes currently used.

A method for manufacturing a lightweight, multi-layered composite substrate including a core layer being a foam sheet and reinforcement layers stacked on both surfaces of the core layer includes preparing the foam sheet, forming each of the reinforcement layers by forming a low-density reinforcement sheet by mixing a natural fiber with a synthetic fiber by carding, subjecting the mixed natural fiber and synthetic fiber to cross wrapping and needle punching, coating polyolefin-based powder to a weight per unit area of 10g/m 2 to 100g/m 2 on the low-density reinforcement sheet, and pressing the low-density reinforcement sheet by a heat roller set to 150 to 230°C, and obtaining a multi-layered composite substrate by stacking the reinforcement layers on both surfaces of the foam sheet by heat.

The present invention relates to novel formulations for adhesive compositions and to adhesive compositions, especially for a hybrid adhesive comprising at least one mixture of an amino resin and at least one polyether, and to the combination of this mixture with isocyanate and to the use of polyethers in adhesives based on amino resins. These adhesive compositions are especially suitable for use as adhesives for woodbase materials, especially OSB sheets, fiberboard or particleboard. In a further aspect, the present invention relates to processes for producing such woodbase materials from lignocellulose-containing comminution products, especially to processes for producing OSB sheets, wood fiberboard or particleboard, wherein the lignocelluloses-containing comminuation products are contacted with the inventive adhesive composition and then the woodbase materials are obtained by pressing with heat treatment. Finally, the present invention is directed to correspondingly obtainable woodbase materials.
