Abstract:
An authentication method of a storage device includes requesting an EID (Encoded IDentifer) to the storage device by an authentication device for authenticating the storage device, receiving the EID by the authentication device, restoring original ID information by decoding the received EID, and verifying individual ID information corresponding to use of the storage device included in ID information by using ID authentication information received from the storage device, wherein the ID information includes multiple pieces of individual ID information corresponding to the use of the storage device.
Abstract:
A content receiver comprises: an acceptance unit for accepting a designation of a recording medium to which contents are to be output; a license information acquiring unit for acquiring output license information describing the output requirements of the contents; and an output unit for outputting the contents to the designated recording medium. The output license information includes usage time limit information indicating the time limit of using the contents in an output destination. The output unit acquires the usage time limit information from the output license information for the contents, and sets the acquired usage time limit information to a management information storing area in the designated recording medium, thereby managing the time period of using the contents in the recording medium even if the copyright protection of the recording medium, which is an export destination, has a function to manage the time period of using the contents.

Abstract:
The present invention provides an apparatus for correctly controlling content recorded on an optical disc. An apparatus 600 for using content recorded on an optical disc 601, wherein the optical disc 601 includes a control information area 602 composed of partial areas 603a-603n, each being for recording control information indicating that use of the content is not permitted, the apparatus 600 comprises: a position information holding unit 612 holding therein position information indicating one of the partial areas 603a-603n that is allocated for the apparatus 600 to record the control information; a reading unit 613 reading information within the control information area 602; a judgment unit 614 judging whether use of the content is permitted, with use of the information read by the reading unit 613 and the position information; and a usage control unit 615 using the content when use of the content is judged to be permitted.
Abstract:
A system for providing digital rights management (DRM) license is provided. The system includes a license generation module generating a first rights token including binding information related to a license for content requested by a sink system; and an interface module providing the generated first rights token to a rights mediator that generates a second rights token usable in the sink system.
Abstract:
A system for providing a digital rights management (DRM) license includes a license generation module generating a plurality of sub-rights tokens including binding information having path information that indicates relations among a plurality of principals in accordance with a request of a sink system; and an interface module providing the generated sub-rights tokens to a rights mediator that generates a main rights token usable in the sink system by combining the sub-rights tokens.
Abstract:
A device renders content on a medium by obtaining a table from the medium, obtaining a device key (DK) of the device and an index value of such (DK), indexing into an entry of the table based on the obtained index value, selecting an encrypted secret from the indexed-into entry, applying the obtained device key (DK) to the selected encrypted secret to expose the secret, and applying the exposed secret to render the content.
