Abstract:
A digital magnetic recorder having a recording compatibility with respect to formats similar to each other in the basic parts. Conventionally, an MP tape (metal-coated tape) is used for the DVCPRO format: and an ME tape (metal-evaporation tape) is used for the DV format. When a format recognizing section (800) outputs a format recognizing signal Sf (dvcpro), equalizing characteristic selecting section (27,28) select recording amplifiers (22p,25p) adapted to the DVCPRO format to select recording equalizers (21p,24p) adapted to the DVCPRO format. When the format recognizing section (800) outputs aformat recognizing signal Sf(dv), the equalizing characteristic selecting sections (27,28) select recording amplifiers (822d, 825d) adapted to the DV format to select recording equalizers (821d,824d) adapted to the DV format
Abstract:
A packet recording/reproducing system is provided which records or reproduces packets on or from tracks formed in time sequence on a magnetic tape. In a recording operation, the packet recording/reproducing system adds to input packets time stamps (3) whose values are synchronous with packet arrival time control clocks produced by the system. The timing with which the packets are recorded on the magnetic tape is controlled by the arrival time control clocks so that a given number of the packets inputted at high data rate are recorded within a one-track area, a two-track area, or a one-track over area defined across at least two of the tracks, thereby minimizing the loss of capacity of the magnetic tape.
Abstract:
In order to enhance adjustment efficiencies by automatic adjustment and gain excellent interchangeability overcoming the changes in characteristics due to variations in characteristics and wear of magnetic heads and the variations in characteristics of record media in high density recording/playback equipment, the present invention discloses a recording format provided with two recording areas of sinusoidal waves of a reference wavelength for making an adjustment of a playback amplifier and a short wavelength for making an adjustment of a playback equalizer, a recording area of adjustment data for detecting errors and making an accurate adjustment of the playback equalizer and a non-data area for recording system adjustment, and further provided on part of the foregoing areas with an indication that the medium is for automatic adjustment and at the same time with identification data to indicate kinds of the medium and, if necessary, to indicate kinds of the foregoing areas and also provided with time code, if needed, and discloses recording equipment for recording this recording format on a record medium and also automatic adjustment equipment for performing automatic adjustments by the use of data of the foregoing recording format on the reference record medium.
Abstract:
A method of recording video data and the accompanied sound data capable of editing the video data and sound data track by track without editing gaps is disclosed. The track format includes a first block of tracks for video data and a second block of tracks for video data and a second block of tracks for sound data for a predetermined number of frames. Another method of selectively recording one of a plurality of kinds of video data having different amounts of data per frame or field and the accompanied sound data (NTSC and PAL for example) is provided. In this method, the video data and sound data are recorded with a recording and editing unit which is a determined by a common multiple of the selected one of kinds of video data. In NTSC method the video and sound data are receded every six frames or fields and in the PAL method, the video and sound data are recorded every 5 frames or fields, so that a track pattern having T = 24 tracks including P tracks for sound data and T - P tracks for video data are recurrently recorded. The video and sound data are recorded track by track, so that video and sound data can be edited track by track.
Abstract:
A switch (SM) is provided which successively switches contacts (1-9) at a timing sufficiently quick with respect to reproduced signals in reproducing a magnetic tape on which digital recording is effected, and which switches contacts (R•L) at similar timing in reproducing a magnetic tape on which analog recording is effected. On signals provided through this switch (SM) and through an analog. digital converting circuit (AD), processing such as waveform equalization corresponding to the type of magnetic tape is effected by a digital equalizer (DEQ). By this digital equalizer (DEQ), correction of frequency characteristic in accordance with the type of the magnetic tape and correction of frequency characteristic inherent to the head per se are effected.
