Provided is a thin film mainly comprising titanium oxide, wherein the thin film comprises components of Ti, Ag and O and contains 29.6at% or more and 34.0at% or less of Ti, 0.003at% or more and 7.4at% or less of Ag, and oxygen as the remainder thereof, and O/(2Ti + 0.5Ag) as a ratio of oxygen to metals is 0.97 or more. This invention aims to provide a thin film mainly comprising titanium oxide having a high refractive index and a low extinction coefficient, a sintered sputtering target mainly comprising titanium oxide suitable for producing the thin film, and a method of producing a thin film mainly comprising titanium oxide. This invention also aims to provide a thin film that has superior transmittance, minimally deteriorates in reflectance, and is useful as an interference film or a protective film for an optical information recording medium. It is also possible to apply this film to a glass substrate; that is, which can be used as a heat reflective film, an anti reflective film, and an interference filter.

A hot-melt web has a buffer adhesive layer of a thermosetting resin on a light transmissive, heat resistant resin support. The hot-melt web has the advantages of light transparency, heat resistance, weather resistance, controlled entrainment of bubbles and easy removal of bubbles during thermocompression bonding, provides a sufficient bonding force, and effectively corrects random deformations of a module sheet. The hot-melt web is suitable for use in the bonding, joining and laminating steps in the manufacture of optical discs such as DVD and flat panel displays, is easy to eliminate bubbles, and is effective for improving the quality of an associated product. A laminate using the hot-melt web and a method for preparing the laminate are also provided.

A covering layer (18) of ultraviolet curable resin may be deposited on the mixture layer. The recording layer is formed on the substrate and includes a magneto-optical layer (13) sandwiched between first and second interference layers (15, 16). For protecting transmission of moisture into the substrate, it is preferable that an additional layer (21) of SiO₂ is deposited on the substrate opposite to the recording layer.
