    摘要: An apparatus for manufacturing cable including a cage strander for rotation about a line axis. Bobbins are supported by the cage strander and arranged for dispensing round conductors downstream thereof for receiving the conductors and forming them into a plurality of complementary segmented pre-shaped wires each having a desired cross-sectional profile in a final compact conductor and each defining at least lateral surfaces. The formed conductors are positioned and oriented to substantially correspond to the positions and orientations between such wires in the final twisted compact conductor. A first drive means rotates the forming apparatus and a second drive drives the forming apparatus. These driving means are synchronized to allow the formed conductors to be closed about the core causing the lateral surfaces of adjacent pre-shaped wires to substantially abut each other and produce a cable wherein the interstices between the wires forming the twisted conductor are substantially eliminated.

The steel core (14) of the cable (10, 12) carries substantially the entire tension load of both the core (14) and conductors (10, 12) when suspended between vertical towers. The overhead transmission cable (10, 12) may be formed of trapezoidal cross section conductor wires (34) for improved vibration performance characteristics.

    摘要: A twisted wire manufacturing apparatus is provided with cradle (6) which is suspended at a pair of rotating shafts (3,4) having extreme ends opposed to each other through bearings. A main body (1) of the wire twisting machine is mounted on the cradle (6). A raw material guide and a twisted wire guide (53) are mounted in respect to a pair of rotating shafts (3,4) having axial insertion holes. The raw material drawing machine and the twisted wire take-up machine are mounted on the cradle (6). The raw wire material is guided through these devices. Another twisted wire manufac­turing machine has a plurality of injection dies (25) communicating with an annular groove formed in the rotary head. An annular shoe for gradually reducing a sectional area of the annular groove (24) is slidably fitted to the annular groove. The raw material is supplied into the annular groove and the raw wires are injected from the injection dies (25). One injection die of a plurality of injection dies is provided with means for increasing an injection resistance of the raw wires. An injection speed of the core raw wire injected from one injection die is made slower than that of outer layer raw wires injected from other injection dies.
