Abstract:
A pressure-responsive touchpad is provided with a touch-sensitive area, wherein the position of an actuator exerting a compressive force on the touch-sensitive area can be detected. The touchpad comprises a first sheet member and a second sheet member arranged at a certain distance from each other by a spacer, the spacer delimiting the touch-sensitive area, a first resistive electrode arranged in the touch-sensitive area on the first sheet member and a second resistive electrode arranged in the touch-sensitive area on the second sheet member in facing relationship with the first resistive electrode, in such a way that, in response to the compressive force acting on the touch-sensitive area, the first and second sheet members are pressed together whereby a contact area is formed and an electrical contact is established in the contact area between the at least first and second resistive electrodes. The touchpad comprises at least one light source and/or reflective element arranged underneath the first and second sheet members with respect to the direction of the compressive force. The first and second resistive electrodes are substantially intransparent for light coming from the at least one light source and/or reflective element, and the first and second electrodes, respectively, have at least one opening associated with the at least one light source and/or reflective element for allowing light to pass from the at least one light source and/or reflective element through the touch-sensitive area.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an input device and a method for inputting information into a control unit, in particular a central control unit of a domestic appliance. The aim of the invention is to provide an improved method and corresponding device for inputting control information, parameters etc., in particular into a domestic appliance. To achieve this, the device is provided with a unit (8) for detecting a signal produced by means of the finger (4) of the operator, preferably as a result of light pressure and for emitting an electric signal (9), the unit (8) is connected to a logic circuit (15) for preparing and/or processing the signal (9) and the device (1) comprises a unit (14) for converting a confirmation signal (R) into and issuing said signal as a tactile signal, which is essentially only perceptible in the vicinity of the finger (4).
Abstract:
A load control device for controlling the amount of power delivered to an electrical load from an AC power source provides improved sensory feedback to a user of the load control device. The load control device comprises a touch screen actuator having a touch sensitive front surface responsive to a plurality of point actuations, each characterized by a position and a force. The touch screen actuator has an output operatively coupled to a controller for providing a control signal representative of the position of the point actuation. The load control device further comprises a visual display and an audible sound generator, both responsive to the controller. The controller is operable to cause the visual display to illuminate and the audible sound generator to generate an audible sound in response to the control signal of the touch screen actuator.
Abstract:
There is disclosed an improved switch panel (SP), e.g. for use in automotive vehicles or electronic/electrical apparatus such as white goods or keypads. Modern switch panels, particularly in cars/automobiles, are provided with an increasing number of electronic controls and equipment. A problem has therefore arisen in that a driver/passenger/user can easily become confused when presented with an array of control switches. The invention therefore provides a switch panel (SP) having a panel member (P) and at least one switch member (S), wherein the panel member (P) has a first appearance when front lit, and at least one second appearance when at least a portion thereof is back lit. The back lighting is provided by illumination means controlled by the at least one switch member (S). The at least one switch member (S) is provided on a reverse (rear) side (105) of the panel member (P) and is controlled by a user from an obverse (front) side (100) of the panel member (P).
Abstract:
The present invention provides a mobile terminal comprising: a terminal body having a display part on the front side thereof; and a back input part exposed to the back side of the body and having a first button part for receiving a push input of a first function, wherein the first button part comprises: an exposed part having a colored layer and exposed to the outside; a knob part formed on the back side thereof so as to fix the exposed part; and a body part covering the knob part and formed to be integrated with the exposed part. In addition, the mobile terminal, according to the present invention, comprises: a touch sensing part disposed under a window and having touch patterns divided into a plurality of touch areas so as to sense a touch; a first signal transmitting part passing through an edge area of the touch sensing part, and connected with the touch patterns in part of the touch sections and then joined at one side of the touch sensing part; a second signal transmitting part passing through the edge area of the touch sensing part, and connected with the touch patterns in the remaining touch areas and then joined on the other side of the touch sensing part; a first flexible printed circuit board and a second flexible printed circuit board to which the first and second signal transmitting parts are respectively connected; and a first connector and a second connector for respectively connecting the first and second flexible printed circuit boards and a printed circuit board.
Abstract:
A hardware switch receives a usage command for utilizing an auxiliary function of a vehicle from an operation portion provided in the vehicle. A software switch displays information indicating the auxiliary function and a command portion performing the usage command on a screen, and receives the usage command for the auxiliary function through a command operation made with respect to the command portion. When either of the hardware switch or the software switch is operated, information is provided for identifying the other switch that corresponds to the auxiliary function utilized by the operated switch.
