摘要: A direct current circuit breaker (10) used in a self-commutated direct current power transmission system includes a high-speed circuit breaker (20) and a low-speed circuit breaker (30) connected in series. The high-speed circuit breaker (20) includes a high-speed circuit breaker interruption unit (21) to interrupt a DC current flowing through a direct current line (1) when a fault has occurred on the direct current line (1), and a current limiting element (22) connected in parallel with the high-speed circuit breaker interruption unit (21). The low-speed circuit breaker (30) includes a low-speed circuit breaker interruption unit (31) to interrupt a DC current flowing through the direct current line (1) when a fault has occurred on the direct current line (1). A time required for the high-speed circuit breaker interruption unit (21) to interrupt the DC current is shorter than a time required for the low-speed circuit breaker interruption unit (31) to interrupt the DC current. The low-speed circuit breaker interruption unit (31) completes interruption of the DC current before a voltage applied to the current limiting element (22) becomes lower than a minimum voltage allowable for the system.

摘要: A latching relay (10) includes a first coil (12), a second coil (14) and a common plunger (16) operatively connected between the first and second coils such that activation of the first coil moves the plunger to a first position and activation of the second coil moves the plunger to a second position. The latching relay also includes a limit switch (24) having a common contact and first and second coil contacts. A position of the common contact is alternately switched between electrical connection to either the first or second coil contact based on a position of the plunger. The first and second coil contacts are electrically connected to the first and second coils, respectively such that when electrical power is applied to the common contact, the electrical power is alternately applied to either the first coil or the second coil depending on the position of the common contact.

摘要: A DC circuit breaker includes: a mechanical switch (2) provided on an electrical path (1) through which a direct current flows; and a semiconductor switch (20) connected in parallel with the mechanical switch (2). The mechanical switch (2) includes a gas disconnector (3) and a vacuum circuit breaker (4) connected in series. Normally, the direct current flows through the mechanical switch (2). When interrupting the direct current, the vacuum circuit breaker (4) is made nonconductive to allow the direct current to be commutated to the semiconductor switch (20), and subsequently the gas disconnector (3) and the semiconductor switch (20) are made nonconductive. A vacuum circuit breaker (4) having a low withstand voltage can be used.

摘要: A passive high-voltage direct-current circuit breaker and an implementation method therefor. The high-voltage direct-current circuit breaker is connected in a direct-current system in series, and comprises an energy absorption branch, a main branch and a current transfer branch which are connected in parallel, wherein the current transfer branch comprises first current transfer branches (T1, T2) and second current transfer branches(T3, T4); the energy absorption branch is composed of a nonlinear resistor (MOV); and the main branch comprises at least two groups of high-speed mechanical switches (Kl, K2) and at least two groups of full controlled device modules which are connected in series. Since the circuit has a simple topology structure, is simple and convenient to control, and is flexible to apply, the energy required by injecting a current into a capacitor can be obtained from a system without configuring an auxiliary power source, thereby improving the reliability of an apparatus. The used power electronic devices are mainly half controlled thyristors, so that the series connection technology is mature, the capability for current segmentation is strong, the level of withstand voltage is high, the expansion capability is strong, and the costs of devices are low.
