摘要: Disclosed is a separator for a lithium secondary battery comprising a porous substrate and an organic/inorganic composite porous coating layer on the surface, in the pore, or on the surface and in the pore of the substrate, wherein the organic/inorganic composite porous coating layer comprises heat-absorbing inorganic particles, a binder polymer, and inorganic particles having a dielectric constant of 5 or more, which include at least one selected from the group consisting of SrTiO3, SnO2, CeO2, MgO, NiO, ZnO, Y2O3, ZrO2, Al2O3, TiO2, and BaTiO3, wherein the heat-absorbing inorganic particle is at least one particle selected from the group consisting of antimony trioxide (Sb2O3), antimony tetraoxide (Sb2O4), antimony pentaoxide (Sb2O5), aluminum hydroxide (Al(OH)3), magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)2), H3BO3, HBO2, ZnSnO4, ZnSnO3, and ZnSn(OH)6. An electrochemical device including the separator is also disclosed. The separator using the heat-absorbing inorganic particles as a component for forming or coating the separator can ensure excellent thermal safety and minimizes degradation of the quality of a battery.

摘要: An organic/inorganic composite separator includes a porous substrate having a plurality of pores; and a porous coating layer formed on at least one surface of the porous substrate with a plurality of inorganic particles and a binder polymer. The binder polymer is a copolymer including: (a) a first monomer unit having a contact angle to a water drop in the range from o° to 49°; and (b) a second monomer unit having a contact angle to a water drop in the range from 50° to 130°. This organic/inorganic composite separator has excellent thermal stability, so it may restrain an electric short circuit between a cathode and an anode. In addition, the separator may prevent inorganic particles in the porous coating layer from being extracted during an assembling process of an electrochemical device, thereby improving stability of an electrochemical device.

摘要: Disclosed is a separator including a separator substrate and an inorganic coating layer disposed on at least one surface of the substrate, wherein a concave pattern portion having a concave pattern is applied merely at the outer circumferential end of the separator substrate. The separator may show excellent resistance characteristics, while ensuring high binding force between the separator substate and the inorganic coating layer by virtue of such a structural feature. In addition, in the electrochemical device including the separator, the concave pattern portion at the outer circumferential end of the separator is disposed in such a manner that it may be overlapped with the tab portion of an electrode, when the separator is applied to an electrode assembly. In this manner, it is possible to prevent lithium plating.

摘要: Provided is a separator for an electrochemical device. The separator includes a porous substrate made of a porous polymer film having an excellent compressibility and permanent strain, wherein the porous substrate has excellent physical strength and durability and ensures a high breakdown voltage while using a heat resistant layer having a small thickness, and thus shows a low possibility of short-circuit generation. In addition, the separator may further include a heat resistant layer including inorganic particles, on the surface of the porous substrate. Herein, it is possible to further improve the compressibility, maximum compressibility and permanent strain characteristics depending on types of inorganic particles.

摘要: The purpose of the present invention is to provide a polyolefin microporous membrane having excellent balance among ionic permeability, compression resistance, withstand voltage characteristics, and deformation adaptability to an electrode volume change. The present invention is a polyolefin multilayer microporous membrane obtained by laminating a first microporous layer containing polypropylene and polyethylene and a second microporous layer containing polyethylene, wherein: in a temperature-melting endothermic amount curve obtained through measurement with a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), (ΔH1-ΔH2)/ΔH2×100≥20, where ΔH1 is the melting endothermic amount of polyethylene during first melting in the temperature range of 0-157°C, and ΔH2 is the melting endothermic amount of polyethylene during second melting; when the content of the polyolefin in the first microporous layer is 100 mass% in the AFM-IR measurement of the cross section of the polyolefin multilayer microporous membrane, the content ratio of the polypropylene in the first microporous layer is 10-50 mass% (exclusive of 50); and the porosity is 35-70%.
