摘要:
A control unit rod interface arrangement couples between AC and DC power systems. The interface includes at least two poles for coupling between the DC and AC power systems. Each of the poles includes a converter for conversion between AC and DC power. If a fault has occurred in one of the poles, a transient current, or fault current, may flow through a neutral bus line connected to the pole, the pole's converter and the location of the fault in the pole. Such a transient or fault current should preferably be damped out as quickly as possible, after which the pole may be electrically isolated from the other components of the interface arrangement. Such a transient or fault current may be damped out relatively quickly by opening of a neutral bus switching element of the neutral bus line connected to the pole after the converter has entered a blocking mode and a circuit breaker at the AC side of the converter has been opened so as to effect discontinuation of flow of current between the AC side of the converter and the AC power system.

The invention is based on a circuit arrangement having a voltage converter (10) with an input path (42), an output path (52) and a plurality of phases (15), wherein each phase (15) has at least one half-bridge (20) and at least one fuse (60), wherein each branch of the half-bridge (20) has a MOSFET (30). The essence of the invention is that the circuit arrangement detects a defective MOSFET and controls the MOSFETs of the intact phases in such a manner that a sufficiently large current trips the fuse connected in series with the defective MOSFET in order to enable emergency operation of the voltage converter. The invention further relates to a method for operating such a circuit arrangement.

A power converter system includes a converter configured to be coupled to a power generation unit for receiving power from the power generation unit, and a bus coupled to the converter, wherein a voltage is generated across the bus when electricity is conducted through the power converter system. The power converter system also includes an inverter coupled to the bus, wherein the inverter is configured to supply power to an electrical distribution network. A control system is coupled to at least one of the converter and the inverter, wherein the control system is configured to adjust an operation of the at least one of the converter and the inverter to reduce the voltage across the bus during at least one of a low voltage event and a high voltage event.

A control circuit and a method for controlling a control circuit (1) is described. The control circuit (1) is connected to at least two electrical loads (2, 3, 4) connected in parallel. An electric melting metal fuse (5, 6, 7) is connected in series with each electrical load. The method comprises the steps of: monitoring the total current provided to the electrical loads (2, 3, 4), and in case the total current from the control circuit (1) during normal operation exceeds a nominal preset current limit, providing one of: a first electric pulse (15) to the loads (2, 3, 4) during a preset first time period at a current which is higher than the nominal preset current limit, and a second electric pulse (16) to the loads (2, 3, 4) during a preset second time period, wherein the current in the second electric pulse (16) is higher than the current in the first electric pulse (15) and wherein the second time period is shorter than the first time period.

Systems 100 and methods for limiting voltage on an auxiliary bus are described. The voltage-limited auxiliary bus may be comprised of a DC auxiliary bus 126 comprised of a positive conductor 1262 and a negative conductor 1264; a chopper 1282, wherein the chopper 1282 is normally in a non-conducting state; a resistor 1284 in series with the chopper 1282, wherein the chopper 1282 and the resistor 1284 are connected between the positive conductor 1282 and the negative conductor 1264 of the DC auxiliary bus 126; and a chopper control 1286, wherein an overvoltage on the DC auxiliary bus 126 causes the chopper control 1286 to cause the chopper 1282 to begin conducting and the conducting limits the voltage on the DC auxiliary bus 126 and dissipates energy from the overvoltage.
