    摘要： An image forming apparatus has a network interface unit for communication with an electronic mail server via a communication network, a main control unit that entirely controls the image forming apparatus and does not operate in a power-saving mode, and a sub control unit that inquires of the electronic mail server in the power-saving mode about whether an electronic mail addressed to the image forming apparatus is stored in the electronic mail server. When such an electronic mail is stored in the electronic mail server, the sub control unit activates the main control unit. The main control unit shifts the image forming apparatus from the power-saving mode to a normal mode, and acquires the electronic mail from the electronic mail server. An image forming unit forms an image on a recording medium based on an attachment file attached to the electronic mail acquired by the main control unit.

    摘要： An image processing apparatus is configured to transit to a communicable power-saving state in which information exchange is possible through a network while power supply to a part of units of the apparatus is stopped. The apparatus includes a connection detection unit configured to detect a connection state of a network cable; and a power supply control unit configured to control a supply state of a power source according to the connection state of the network cable. When the network cable is changed from a connected state to a disconnected state, the power supply control unit controls the supply state of the power source so as to cause the apparatus to transit to a connection detectable power-saving state in which a power supply range is more limited than that in the communicable power-saving state and in which detection of the connection state of the network cable is possible by the connection detection unit.

    摘要： The present invention relates to a digital camera that includes a wireless modem for transferring images via a wireless network. Before taking photos, the user can select various configuration settings, one of which uploads tagged images to a photo service provider or other website. If a network connection is not available when images are captured, the camera automatically wakes up later to check for network availability. If a suitable network connection is available, the camera operates in a reduced power state to upload the images from the camera. Data indicating whether or not each image has been uploaded and/or transferred via the wireless network is stored in the camera, and icons are displayed along with the images, to indicate to the user whether or not an image has been transferred to their computer or uploaded to their website.

The multimedia system uses a video/audio output device, a peripheral device, and an external connection device. The multimedia system includes a mobile communication terminal having a video/audio output function and a peripheral device control function so that the mobile communication terminal outputs images and sounds by using the video/audio output device and controls the peripheral device; and an external connection device for connecting the mobile communication terminal to the video/audio output device and the peripheral device, relaying the images and sounds from the mobile communication terminal to the video/audio output device, and relaying data transmitted/received between the mobile communication terminal and the peripheral device. When multimedia data is reproduced by using a mobile communication terminal, it is easily connected to an external video/audio output device (e.g. a TV) or a peripheral device (e.g. a computer, a mouse, a joystick) to construct a multimedia system.
