The first crosstalk canceller uses a voice signal in which the second crosstalk is removed from the voice signal of the second microphone to estimate and calculate a first interference signal indicative of a degree of the first crosstalk, and to remove the calculated first interference signal from the voice signal of the first microphone. The second crosstalk canceller uses a voice signal in which the first crosstalk is removed from the voice signal of the first microphone to estimate and calculate a second interference signal indicative of a degree of the second crosstalk, and to remove the calculated second interference signal from the voice signal of the second microphone.

An audio device of the present invention is characterized in that, with sound field correction as a precondition, low-pitch ranges can be reproduced by using numerous small-diameter speakers, a single one of which is insufficient to reproduce low-pitch ranges despite good group delay characteristic, and outstanding waveform reproducibility can be achieved by covering the periphery of the speakers with sound-absorbent material so as to remove noise emitted by surfaces other than the front surface of cone paper.

Embodiments are directed to upward-firing speakers that reflect sound off a ceiling to a listening location at a distance from a speaker. The reflected sound provides height cues to reproduce audio objects that have overhead audio components. A virtual height filter based on a directional hearing model is applied to the upward-firing driver signal to improve the perception of height for audio signals transmitted by the virtual height speaker to provide optimum reproduction of the overhead reflected sound. The upward firing driver is tilted at an inclination angle of approximately 20 degrees to the horizontal axis of the speaker and separate height and direct terminal connections are provided to interface to an adaptive audio rendering system.

The speaker comprises sideward firing drivers (108) to reflect sound off of the wall surface (114) and represents a virtual direct speaker (116). A virtual direct filter is applied to the sideward-firing driver signal to improve the perception of direct audio transmitted by the sideward firing speaker (108) to provide optimum reproduction of the reflected sound. The virtual direct filter may be incorporated as part of a crossover circuit that separates the full band and sends high frequency sound to the sideward-firing driver (108).

A range switching earphone includes an earphone housing, a low pitch loudspeaker, a high pitch loudspeaker, a circuit adaptation module, and a control unit. The low pitch loudspeaker, the high pitch loudspeaker, and the circuit adaptation module are in the earphone housing. The circuit adaptation module is electrically connected to the low pitch loudspeaker and the high pitch loudspeaker. The control unit is connected to the circuit adaptation module for switching on or off of the high pitch loudspeaker or for switching filtering modes of a filtering unit in the circuit adaptation module. Therefore, different frequency response can be achieved with the same earphone, thereby satisfying requirements or tastes of users for listening music of different styles or in different circumstances.
