摘要: A method of displaying details of a coronary artery lesion in a cineangiogram, by adjusting each frame of the cineangiogram so that the lesion is continually displayed at a fixed location on a display. The remaining cardiac anatomy appears to move, in background, past a stationary arterial segment, thus making the displayed arterial segment easier to identify and to examine by medical personnel. Cineangiographic image frames are digitized and processed by a processor (201) and the image frames are digitally shifted to place the arterial segment in substantially the same viewing location in each frame. Sequential image frames may be presented to the viewer as a stereoscopic pair, to produce pseudostereopsis. The arterial segment appears to the viewer in foreground, as if it was floating in front of the remaining cardiac anatomy. Image frames may be further processed to aid examination by medical personnel. The processor may make quantitative measurements of the cineangiogram and may display results of those measurements to aid review of the cineangiogram. Frames may be averaged to reduce quantum noise and to blur any structure noise; frames may be compared with prior cineangiograms to increase clarity or contrast. Coordinate adjustments for a cineangiogram may help guide therapeutic procedures, or may help enhance other imaging procedures such as fluoroscopy.

摘要: An image pick-up apparatus (1) for picking up a plurality of sub-images and combining them so as to form a composite image, including a correction unit (5) for correcting brightness values of the composite image. The correction unit (5) includes a selection unit (6) for selecting bright and dark parts from the sub-images. There is also provided an arithmetic unit (10) for deriving a gain correction factor from the bright parts and an offset correction term from the dark parts. The correction unit (5) also includes a multiplier unit (8) and an adder unit (9) for multiplying signal levels of a sub-image signal by the gain correction factor and for adding the offset correction term thereto. The image pick-up apparatus is used in an X-ray examination apparatus (20) for picking up an optical image on the exit window (32) of an X-ray image intensifier (24) and for supplying an electronic image signal for a high-resolution composite image so that image information in a medical X-ray image with small details can be suitably reproduced.

摘要: In a medical imaging system having a data acquisition system (DAS) (84) that provides both image data and non-image data to a main computer of the medical imaging system (20) via a plurality of DAS channels, wherein the DAS channels convey mostly image data, a method and apparatus is provided for selectively sampling and multiplexing auxiliary (AUX) data, such as system monitoring and system diagnostic data, and providing the AUX data along with the image data to a bank of analog-to-digital converters (80). A plurality of programmable sampling and multiplexing modes are provided so as to ensure that each AUX data signal is sampled at a rate that is appropriate to a phase of operation of the medical imaging system, such as system monitoring, or system diagnostics.

摘要: The present invention discloses a method and system for detecting and correcting an erroneous exposure generated during x-ray imaging of a patient (14) In the present invention, x-ray imaging settings for imaging the patient are selected. X-ray beam quality and x-ray quantity values are generated from the selected x-ray imaging settings. An exposure rate is predicted from the x-ray beam quality and x-ray quantity values. The patient (14) is then exposed to an x-ray beam having the generated x-ray beam quality and x-ray quantity values. The total exposure is then determined and compared to the predicted exposure rate. The comparison is then used to determine if the patient is being exposed at an erroneous level. If the exposure is at a correct level, then the exposure is completed. However, if the exposure is not at a correct level, then the exposure is stopped and adjusted to a new exposure level.

摘要: A monitoring detector assembly (70) is positioned outside the scanning plane of a CT scanner to insure detection of unattenuated x-rays from the x-ray source (26) of the scanner. The monitoring detector assembly preferably provides a sequence of monitor detection measurements simultaneous with the sequential acquisition of the image data from the image detectors (28) during each projection of the scan by a filtered CT scanner. The image data are monitored using the closest in time monitor detection measurement.

摘要: An x-ray imaging system (40) includes a source of x-rays (42), a video camera (52) which produces an image signal formed by x-ray attenuation values, an image signal processor (72) and a video monitor (74) for displaying the x-ray image. The system also has an automatic image control (56) that includes a peak detector (60), an average brightness detector (58) and a transfer function generator (62) for the image processor. The peak detector (60) receives the image signal and produces a video gain control signal for controlling the video camera in response to a comparison of a peak level of the image signal to a peak reference level. The average brightness detector (58) employs the image signal to produce a feedback signal (66) which controls by the source of x-rays. The transfer function generator (62) produces a histogram of intensity levels in the image signal which histogram forms a look-up table (76) that is used by the image processor to transform the image signal into the adjusted image signal for display.

摘要: The present invention demonstrates a method and a device in the technique of using an image sensing member, preferably a CCD cell instead of a film sensitive to X-ray radiation. The method and the device is applicable to a general X-ray arrangement without any necessary direct connection between the image sensing member and the X-ray arrangement has to be present by using a number of detector points for X-ray radiation at or in the CCD cell. Additionally is demonstrated a method and a device resulting in minimizing of the radiation dose to exactly what is needed for exact imaging exposure of an image, which according to the present invention implies that more images may be obtained within a same total normal radiation dose.
