    摘要: A continuous, rotary empty can photoinspecting apparatus which has a continuously rotating star wheel including a plurality of can seats formed at equal intervals on the outer periphery, and an optically sealed annular disc confronting a telescopic slide pusher so as to be integrally rotatable with the star wheel therebetween. As the can seats are moved through an empty can supply station, unpainted and unprinted bright empty cans are introduced one by one and immediately after trimming and suction-held by their bottom ends onto the nozzle port at the end of the slide pusher. The empty can is subsequently moved to a photoinspecting station and inserted at its open end into the groove of the annular disc by the forward pushing of the slide pusher. The annular disc is constructed with a non-glossy black surface for attenuating externally introduced light reflecting on the surface, a trap groove in the depth, and a conical guide to facilitate the introduction of the open end of the can at the inlet. This apparatus can thus photoinspect the existence of transmitted light in the interior of an empty can, and sort and exhaust good and bad empty cans in a fully automatic and mechanized operation.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a sorter for automatically distributing products to be sorted which are conveyed successively and continuously. The sorter comprises a drive shaft; a main screw which is rotated continuously by the drive shaft to arrange in order and convey products to be sorted, the main screw having helical grooves for engagement with the products; an annular groove portion for stopping therein each of the to-be-sorted products being conveyed, the annular groove portion being formed between helical grooves of the main screw in series with the helical grooves; a rotatable sub-screw located near the main screw at the position of the annular groove portion, the sub-screw being formed with helical grooves for engagement with the products to be sorted to arrange in order and convey the products; a delivery means disposed at the position of the annular groove portion to deliver the products to be sorted from the main screw to the sub-screw; and an interlocking mechanism to which is inputted the rotation of the drive shaft and which synchronizes the delivery motion of the delivery means with the rotation of the sub-screw. According to this construction, the products to be sorted can be sorted with strict correctness and reliability and that at a high speed without being damaged.

    摘要: A chamber (22) has an outlet (24) which opens downwardly to the atmosphere and an upwardly opening air return plenum (28). A duct (38) is inclined upwardly at approximately sixty degrees to the horizontal, and a fan (32) mounted therein directs moving air (36) into the chamber (22). An upwardly inclined ramp (40) is positioned within the duct (38), and communicates between the chamber (22) and a downwardly opening discharge opening (46) in the duct (38). A metered supply of wood chips (52) is fed down a sixty degree incline (56) onto the ramp (40) through the air stream (36) which is moving through the duct (38). Lightweight chips (55) become entrained in the air (36) and are separated from the rocks, tramp metal and knots (50) which slide down the inclined surface (40) and exit through the opening (46) in the duct (38). The entrained wood chips (55), together with the air (36) from the fan (32), are directed into a baffle (58) spaced within the chamber (22). By forcing the air (36) and chips (55) to move in a curved path, the baffle (58) separates the chips (55) from the air stream (36). As the air stream (36) expands into the chamber (22), its velocity drops then passes through the chip stream (52) up to the air return plenum (28). The chips (55), under the force of gravity, continue their downward flight, and exit the chamber (22) through the outlet (24). An inclined ramp (40) with a slowly moving conveyor (168) may be used to avoid a build-up of material (50) on the inclined ramp (40).

The sort can sort objects with strict accuracy and reliability at high speed without damaging the objects.
