    摘要: The invention relates to a knee laxity evaluator which consists of an instrumented seat (9), a restraint means (7) for restraining the thigh of a patient to the instrumented seat, a motion module (11) for measuring motion of the unrestrained part of the leg relative to the thigh of the patient, and processor means for analyzing outputs of the instrumented seat and the motion module to provide indications of applied force and relative motion. The invention also relates to a specific motion module/digitizer combination which can be used as a part of the knee laxity evaluator, or which can be used independently or in alternate systems. The invention also relates to a novel dynanometer for use in the knee laxity evaluator which includes a triple beam arrangement.

    摘要: An electrocardiograph sensor positioning device includes a pair of sensor locating members (12,14) that are angularly adjustable with respect to each other to a determinable angular position. Co-operative indicia means (50,72) provided on each of the sensor locating members furnish an indication of the relative angular position therebetween. Each of the sensor locating members defines a plurality of location zones (34,38: 56-64) for positioning of the electrocardiograph sensors and indicia means (40,42,68) are provided alongside the location zone to determine the precise location of the electrocardiograph sensors when they are positioned in the location zones. The electrocardiograph sensor positioning device thus permits the establishment of reference paths on the human anatomy which are used to locate the positions of the electrocardiograph sensors. The size and extent of the reference paths and the pivotal arrangement of one of the sensor locating members permits adaptation of the device to a relativey wide range of anatomical size and shape regardless of sex.

    摘要: The disclosed apparatus is an electro-optical fingerprint photocopier to copy fingerprints of a person. This apparatus uses a camera (20) with one or more lenses (24) to photocopy the impression made by the ridges on the tips of the fingers and thumbs. These impressions are useful as means for identification since no two persons have the same ridges pattern. This apparatus also includes an automatic chart feeder (32), a shutter assembly (28) and a finger positioning assembly (36) comprising concave-convex lenses to position the fingers. The features make possible the processing of an accurate finger-print chart in a very short time. The apparatus shall be especially used in the identification of persons, in the military, naval, police and immigration services, and in various commercial transactions. Also, shall be used by schools and other learning institutions for the proper identification of students.

    摘要: A device and method for applying and retaining a unique data carrier to a tooth surface of an individual. The data carrier comprises a thin sheet of material having a data format unique to the individual.     摘要: @ A compact fingerprinting system includes an applicator comprising a sealed packet (13) containing a porous pad (12) impregnated with a solution of water-soluble, color-forming, marking compound, such as iron chloride having a controlled, optimum water content. A print of a body part, such as a finger, is formed by opening the packet (60) and wiping the distal portion of a finger (76) on the pad (62), such as a folded towelette to form a non-visible, latent image pattern. The pattern is transferred to a card (40) which can contain an area (44) impregnated with developer for the marking compound. The developer reacts with the pattern to form a dark, distinct, permanent image (84). The card (40) and packet (13) can be enclosed in an envelope (64) to form a low profile, lightweight, mailable, self-administered fingerprinting system.
