The proposed invention relates to an electromedical device that produces a cold plasma at atmospheric pressure for use in blood clotting and the treatment of ulcers and other skin injuries in human and animal patients. The main claims relate to the use of gas pre-treated by means of a cooling and dehumidification, together with a system of plasma expansion chambers in the outlet channel of same. As a result of these innovations, the plasma produced using the invention has a lower temperature than those in the prior art, preserving greater effectiveness both in blood clotting and in the disinfection and treatment of skin injuries, without causing any damage to the patient's healthy tissue. The device can be used in the treatment of human and animal patients to considerably accelerate blood clotting without damage to healthy tissue, during clinical and surgical treatments. I can also be used to treat ulcers and other skin injuries, owing to its disinfection properties, without damaging healthy tissue.

The present disclosure relates to devices, systems and methods for evaluating the success of a treatment applied to tissue in a patient, such as a radio frequency ablative treatment used to neuromodulate nerves associated with the renal artery. A system monitors parameters or values generated during the course of a treatment. Feedback provided to an operator is based on the monitored values and relates to an assessment of the likelihood that a completed treatment was technically successful. In other embodiments, parameters or values generated during the course of an incomplete treatment (such as due to high temperature or high impedance conditions) may be evaluated to provide additional instructions or feedback to an operator.

The invention is a system for monitoring and controlling tissue ablation. The system includes a controller configured to selectively control energy emission from an electrode array of an ablation device based on ablation feedback received during an ablation procedure with the ablation device. The controller is configured to receive feedback data from one or more sensors during the ablation procedure, the feedback data comprising one or more measurements associated with at least one of operation of the electrode array of the ablation device and tissue adjacent to the electrode array. The controller is further configured to generate an ablation pattern for controlling energy emission from the electrode array of the ablation device in response to the received feedback data.

In at least one embodiment, the electrosurgical unit may be configured such that the power delivered to an electrode assembly of an ablation device in electrical communication with the electrosurgical unit is controlled by varying the duration or the intensity of power delivered during the high and low modes, or both. In another embodiment, the duration of the high mode may remain constant while the duration of the low mode may vary in order to vary the power output from the electrosurgical unit.
