摘要： A die casting machine comprises a carousel and a plurality of molds disposed around the carousel. The carousel rotates about a central axis, such that each of the plurality of molds comes into a position for casting in turn. Each mold comprises a toggle mechanism and extraction pins. A gripping mechanism may extend up through a hole in the carousel table to couple the toggle mechanism to an actuator. At least one of the pins may comprise a pin brake such that the pins remain in position when the mold is opened, suspending a newly cast metal part in mid-air, when the brake is activated. When the brake is deactivated, the pins may retract, and the part may be removed without damaging the cast part.

摘要： The proposed improvements in metallurgical conversion according to the invention involve the production of a semi-finished product (a mixed blank) in the form of an ingot through casting in a mould of a casting facility from a solid filler, preferably an oxidizer, and liquid pig iron which is subsequently cooled. Action is taken during the process to prevent the solid filler in the liquid pig iron from flaring. This is done both by the application of a mechanical force which can be created by, for example, a cantilever (8) with a hollow roller (9) which acts on the mould (2), and a weighting unit (10), and by the selection of suitable relative dimensions of the solid filler pieces and of the pouring rate. The optimal conditions are disclosed for the use of the semi-finished article in metallurgical conversions in oxygen converters and electric arc furnaces.

The method comprises first the gradual nipping of the side faces of the blank so as to form prints and at least one embossment on another face of the blank, and the shearing of the blank at right angles to the prints. The device comprises, connected to the uprights (11) of a carriage which is made periodically integral with the blank, two symmetrical jaws (12) which form the prints and a blade (13) with its moving cutting edge (14) to shear the blank. Application particularly to the aluminium industry for obtaining, from a continuous molded product, ingots having a constant cross-section, a known length, and embossments at their ends providing for a self-blocking stacking assembly.
