Schabrad od, dgl., das mit einem Werkstück (W) in einem Zweiflanken-Wälzeingriff steht, bei der das Werkstück (W) ortsfest, aber drehbar, auf dem Maschinenbett (11) gelagert ist und das Werkzeug (T) in einem Werkzeugkopf (27) aufgenommen ist, der um eine senkrecht zur Werkzeug- und zur Werkstückachse gerichtete Einstellachse dreheinstellbar in einer um eine horizontale Achse schwenkbaren Wiege (25) an einem in horizontaler Richtung verfahrbaren Querschlitten (40) angeordnet ist, der in einem ebenfalls in horizontaler Richtung verfahrbaren Vorschubschlitten (20) geführt ist. Die beiden Bewegungsrichtungen sind um 90 o zueinander versetzt. Der Vorschubschlitten (20) ist in einem in vertikaler Richtung verfahrbaren Zustellschlitten (16) geführt.

The target tooth-profile data (Do), the tooth-profile error data (”D) which is the difference between the target tooth-profile data (Do) and the measured tooth-profile data (Dm), and the correction coefficients (± and ²) acquired in correspondence with the number of times sharpened and the cutter features are applied to the equation Dcc=Do+±”D+², to fnd the aimed tooth-profile data (Dcc). Then, the shaving-cutter tooth-profile data (ds) is found from the aimed tooth-profile data (Dcc). Thus, the shaving cutter can be sharpened appropriately, even when the outer diameter and the tooth thickness of the shaving cutter are reduced as a result of sharpening the shaving cutter.

The workpiece chuck 3 is constituted to hold the outer circumferential surface of the internal gear with the axis of rotation of the internal gear oriented in a up-down direction so that shavings produced during processing by the shaving cutter can fall downwardly from the internal gear.
