摘要: One embodiment of an ocular lens includes a lens body configured to contact an eye where the lens body has an optic zone shaped to direct central light towards a central focal point of a central region of a retina of the eye. At least one optic feature of the lens body has a characteristic that directs peripheral light off axis into the eye away from the central region of the retina. Another embodiment of an ocular lens has at least one isolated feature of the lens body that has a characteristic of directing peripheral light off axis into the eye away from the central region of the retina. Methods of making contact lenses include forming the features during the manufacturing process.

摘要: A method comprising: adhering a first lens (24) to a second lens (22) such as to form a combined lens (20) having a given optical design, the adhering comprising: placing the first lens (24) and the second lens (22) in respective first and second pressure chambers (71, 72), with an adhesive layer (73) disposed between the first lens (24) and the second lens (22), pressure within each of the first and second pressure chambers (71,72) being independently controllable; bringing a convex surface of the first lens (24) into contact with the adhesive layer (73), such that a central region (76) of the convex surface of the first lens (24) initially contacts the adhesive layer (73), and contact between the convex surface of the first lens (24) and the adhesive layer (73) subsequently radiates outwardly from the central region (76) of the convex surface of the first lens (24), until the convex surface of the first lens becomes covered by the adhesive layer (73); and bringing a concave surface of the second lens (22) into contact with the adhesive layer (73), such that a central region (77) of the concave surface of the second lens (22) initially contacts the adhesive layer (73), and contact between the concave surface of the second lens (22) and the adhesive layer (73) subsequently radiates outwardly from the central region (77) of the concave surface of the second lens (22), until the concave surface of the second lens (22) becomes covered by the adhesive layer (73).
