摘要： A wheel disc adapted for use in a fabricated vehicle wheel comprising: a steel wheel disc 102 defining an axis X1 and including a center mounting portion 120, an outer rim connecting flange, a plurality of radially outwardly extending spokes 122 connecting the center mounting portion to the outer rim connecting flange and a ventilation opening 130 provided between each pair of adjacent spokes, the center mounting portion including a center hub hole 126 and a plurality of lug bolt mounting holes 124, the outer rim connecting flange being parallel to the axis and including a side edge, each of the spokes 122 including a center wall 122A, a side wall 122B, and an outer wall 122C. In order to improve the wheel, a width of the central wall 122A and of the outer walls 122C considerably narrows or is reduced along a substantial and/or an entire portion thereof such that the central wall has a first width W3 near the center mounting and a second width W4 near to the outer flange being less than the width W3, and the outer walls 122C have a third width W5 near to the center mounting portion and a fourth width W6 near to the outer flange which is considerably less than the width W5.

摘要： A method of making a wheel support assembly adapted to bolt to an axle of a vehicle for supporting a tire is disclosed herein along with the assembly itself. In accordance with this method, an outer annular rim (12) having an outer annular surface configured to support a tire is provided along with at least one integral piece of sheet metal. The sheet metal is stamp formed into a plurality of spoke arrangements (28), each of which includes (i) at least two elongated spokes respectively including inner ends and outer ends and (ii) a cross-bar connecting together the inner ends of the spokes and configured to bolt to the axle for connecting the inner ends of said spokes to the axle, whereby to serve as part of a hub of the wheel support assembly. The outer ends of the spokes are connected to the rim (12). In one embodiment disclosed herein, each spoke arrangement is formed from its own separate and distinct piece of sheet metal. In a second embodiment, all of the spoke arrangements are stamp formed from a single piece of sheet metal.

摘要： In an automobile wheel, a disc flange of a wheel disc includes bent surface-side edge portions each having an arcuate shape and arranged concentrically with each other, and the bent surface-side edge portions extend from the surface-side end edge of a fitted straight annular portion to be bent radially inward and are dented to a back side of the outer end portions of the lateral edge portions of spokes. The thus configured automobile wheel can exhibit high strength and rigidity against a radial load, a bending load, and a torsional load because of the shape of the bent surface-side edge portions, thereby suppressing deformation of the disc flange caused while an automobile is running. Thus, it is possible to mitigate a stress concentration on a joined portion between the wheel disc and a wheel rim.
