    摘要: A test circuit (100) for an airbag restraint system is disclosed and provides an accurate determination of the operativeness of a storage capacitor (130,132) and calculates the resistance of inertia switch resistors (114,118). The test circuit provides for parallel testing of the storage capacitor (130,132) and inertia resistors (114,118). The capacitor is tested by discharging and charging the capacitor. The values of the inertia switch resistors are determined by switching known resistive values in parallel with the inertia switch resistors. Based on the monitored voltage values during the switching, resistance values are calculated.

    摘要: An adaptive belt is attached to a vehicle seat and includes a first section (101), a second section (102), and a third section (103). The adaptive belt includes a retracted configuration and a fully extended configuration. In the retracted configuration, the adaptive belt is folded between the first section and the second section such that a first attachment attaches the first section to a first portion of the second section. In the retracted configuration, the adaptive belt is also folded between the second section and the third section such that a second attachment attaches a second portion of the second section to a first portion of the third section. In the fully extended configuration, all of the attachments fail thereby increasing a length of the adaptive belt. In response to a threshold loading condition, the adaptive belt changes from the retracted configuration to the fully extended configuration.

    摘要: An energy absorbing element for a vehicle safety belt comprising two shoulder straps, the energy absorbing element comprising a generally oblong strap component (5) connected to one of the shoulder straps (20). The oblong strap component (5) comprises two superposed length of straps joined widthwise and lengthwise together by means of seams (8). The other extremity of the oblong strap component (5) is connected to an anchoring plate or a portion (20a) of the shoulder strap by means of stitches (5e). The oblong strap component (5) also comprises an opening for receiving an arm of a plate-like component (10) connected by its other arm (10a) to another portion (20c) of the said shoulder strap. The forces suddenly applied to the shoulder strap (20) of the safety belt are transferred to the component (10) which is displaced along the strap component (5), cutting the predifined deformation seams (8) and thereby dissipating energy.
