摘要:
Non-fragmenting pressure relief apparatus includes at least one circular rupture disc having a central asymmetric bulged section and a peripheral flange portion. A semi-circular line of weakness extends around the periphery of the bulged section and presents a hinge portion between the ends of the line of weakness. A hold-down member for the rupture disc having an inner opening surrounding the bulged section of the disc is provided with a unitary segment that extends into the inner opening of the hold-down member. The spaced end extremities of the line of weakness extend beneath the hold-down member segment. The hinge portion of the disc upon rupture of the disc bends about a fulcrum defined by the outer margin of the hold-down segment, which in conjunction with deflection of the segment of the hold-down member contributes to anti-fragmentation of the disc.

A pressure relief device is provided with enhanced fatigue resistance. The pressure relief device may include, inter alia, rupture disks assemblies and explosion panel assemblies. The explosion panel assemblies include a first explosion panel (11a), a second explosion panel (11b), and a non-rigid buffering layer (33) that may be selected for its thermal insulation properties. The buffering layer (33) is interposed between the first and second explosion panels (11a, 11b) and may be configured to oppose inward flexing of these panels. The buffering layer (33) may force surfaces of the first and second explosion panels (11a, 11b) to extend outwardly.

Collapsible container (1) for fluent and particulate bulk goods, which container includes a carrying base part (20) which is provided with shock absorbing members (21), collapsible side walls (30) and preferably a lid. The side walls (30) are movably attached to the base part (20) via hinge parts (31). Adjacent side walls (30) are furthermore inter-connectable via a coupling which is angularly flexible around a vertical pivot axle. The lid (50) is mechanically connected with the side walls (30) so that forces can be absorbed in both the vertical and the horizontal plane.

Methods of creating various laser-defined control structures on pressure relief devices are provided that utilize a laser having a field of view that is smaller than the overall dimensions of the laser-defined structure to be milled into the pressure relief device. The methods generally involve partitioning the working surface of the device into a plurality of tiles within which a particular segment of the control structure will be milled. Upon milling of a control structure segment in one tile, the pressure relief device and/or laser is repositioned so that a control structure segment in another tile may be created.
