Des Weiteren betrifft die Erfindung die Verwendung der nach dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren aktivierten Metallelektroden und Metallschaumelektroden, insbesondere Nickelelektroden und vor allem Nickelschaumelektroden, in elektrochemischen Reaktionen, Elektrolyse organischer Verbindungen, Katalyse organo-chemischer Reaktionen sowie der Wasserelektrolyse.
