Abstract:
Regular series-parallel hybrid electric powertrains (powersplit eCVT) are two-motor HEV propulsion systems mated with a planetary gear, and most mild or full parallel hybrid systems are single motor systems with a gearbox or continuously variable transmission (CVT) coupled with an electric machine. Coupling a ball-type continuously variable planetary (CVP), such as a VariGlide ®, with one electric machine enables the creation of a parallel HEV architecture with the CVP functioning as a continuously variable transmission, and the motor providing the functionality of electric assist, starter motor capability, launch assist and regenerative braking. Two motor variants provide series-parallel hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) architectures. Embodiments disclosed herein, coupled with a hybrid supervisory controller that chooses the path of highest efficiency from engine to wheel, leads to the creation of a hybrid powertrain that are capable of operating at the best potential overall efficiency point in any mode and also provide torque variability.
Abstract:
A friction roller type reduction gear is provided with: a sun roller disposed coaxially with an input shaft; a ring roller having a stationary ring roller element and a movable ring roller element; a plurality of intermediate rollers in rolling contact with the outer peripheral surface of the sun roller and with the inner peripheral surface of the ring roller; a connection section for connecting the ring roller and an output shaft; and a loading cam mechanism having a cam ring and changing the contact surface pressure of each rolling contact surface. The outer peripheral surface of the sun roller is a concave surface, and the shape of the outer edge of the outer peripheral surface in an axial cross-section is a single circular arc-shaped concave curve. The outer peripheral surface of each of the intermediate rollers is a convex surface, and the shape of the outer edge of the outer peripheral surface in an axial cross-section is a single circular arc-shaped convex curve.
Abstract:
A rocking holder of a friction-roller-type reduction gear is provided with a pair of bearings supporting a rotating shaft of an intermediate roller and having a rocking shaft in a position eccentric from the center of the rotating shaft, and a cross-linking part integrally linking the pair of bearings. A carrier has a holder support part for rotatably supporting the bearings. The inter-shaft distance between the center of the rocking shaft and the center of the rotating shaft is no more than the maximum radius of the outside diameter of the intermediate roller, and the center of the rocking shaft is disposed on a line where the shaft is subjected to the reactive force of torque transmitted to the rocking holder.
Abstract:
A gearless speed reducer or increaser consists of an input shaft, an output shaft, and a motor connected to the input shaft. There is an external race connected to one of the shafts, and an internal race attached to the other shaft. Two ball bearings are disposed between the races and held in place by a finger assist. After the ball bearings have been inserted, the shafts are tilted relative to each other so that the balls become fixed in pockets created between the races and cannot slide within the races.
Abstract:
[Problem] A two-wheel → four-wheel drive switching for a traction-transmitting part time four-wheel drive vehicle in which a gear clutch for separating one of auxiliary driving wheels from a drive train is equipped can be carried out under a shock reduction. [Means for solving problem] In a case where a two-wheel → four-wheel drive switching request occurs during a traveling of the vehicle (step S11 and step S12), an operation of switching a traction-transmitting transfer from a non-transmitting state to a transmitting state is preceded (step S18 and step S22) and, thereafter, the gear clutch is engaged (step S21 and step S22) when a revolution speed difference ΔVw between main and auxiliary driving wheels is 0
Abstract:
Under control of rotation of a crankshaft 41, a friction roller 32 is pressed against a friction roller 31 in a radial direction, so as to achieve torque transmission between the rollers 31, 32. An inter-roller radial pressing reaction is canceled as an internal force in bearing supports 23, 25, with no input to a housing 11. Each bearing support 23, 25 is formed with a constricted portion at a center section of the bearing support between bearing-fitting portions at end sections of the bearing support, for lowering support stiffness of the bearing support against the inter-roller radial pressing reaction.
