摘要: A first gear train (5) couples one shaft with the left axle (11) or the right axle (12). The one shaft is one of two shafts which are not coupled to the reduction gear (4). The other one is coupled with one element which is not coupled to the first gear train among three elements of the differential case (16), the left axle and the right axle. The planetary gear mechanism (2), first gear train (5) and second gear train (6) have a gear ratio by which rotation of a motor (3) stops when the differential apparatus (1) does not perform differential operation, and total torque of the left axle (11) and the right axle (12) does not change when torque of the motor (3) is applied.

摘要: A vehicle four-wheel drive system 10, particularly for allowing skid-steer control of a robot, drives axles 12, 14 each comprising two coaxial axle shafts 12a, 12b, 14a, 14b, each axle shaft carrying a wheel 13a, 13b, 15a, 15b. A pair of diagonally opposite axle shafts 12a, 14b are driven by drive means 16a, 17b, preferably electric motors driving the shafts through gearboxes 16b, 17b. Drive transmissions 18, 19, 20, 21, longitudinally transmit drive from axle shafts 12a, 14b to axle shafts 12b, 14a on the same side of the vehicle; preferably a belt-and-pulley system uses V-belts or cogged belts 18, 19 and pulleys 20, 21. Wheels 13a, 14b may be smooth and wheels 13b, 14a studded or treaded, and traction may also be provided by belts 18, 19. Motors (36, Figure 3) may alternatively be provided for each axle shaft (33, Figure 3).

摘要: Front left and right wheel units (FL, FR) are driven by an engine (ENG) and a motor generator (MG2). Rear left and right wheel units (RL, RR) are independently driven by in-wheel motor type motor generators (MGR, MGL). The motor generator (MG2) and the motor generator (MGR, MGL) are configured to have different rated outputs, respectively, and be subjected to different speed reduction ratios, respectively, between the motor generators and their respectively associated drive wheel units, and thus have characteristics, respectively, in efficiency with respect to torque and vehicular speed, that exhibit high efficiency in mutually different output ranges, respectively. When a mileage oriented mode is selected as a traveling mode, an ECU (30) determines how a drive torque should be allocated between the motor generators (MG2, MGR, MGL), as based on the motors' required drive torque and vehicular speed and on each motor generator's characteristic in efficiency, to maximize the motor generators' total efficiency.

A second rotating electric machine (45) without a permanent magnet is connected to the second drive device (40). A third drive device (20) is connected in parallel to the first drive device (30). A third rotating electric machine (25) with a permanent magnet is connected to the third drive device (20). The second rotating electric machine (45) is formed of a reluctance motor or an induction motor. The first rotating electric machine (35) and the second rotating electric machine (45) of the present invention may be linked to wheels of a vehicle.
