Disclosed is a method for monitoring the content of iron containing materials in a particulate ash stream of a fluidized bed boiler, characterized by the steps of: a. measuring magnetic susceptibility of a particulate ash stream from an ash outlet of the boiler; b. magnetic separation of this ash stream into a magnetizable and non-magnetizable fraction; c. measuring magnetic susceptibility of the magnetizable fraction; d. calculating the weight specific magnetic susceptibility of the particulate ash stream and the magnetizable fraction; e. calculating the normalized magnetic susceptibility by dividing the weight specific magnetic susceptibility of the particulate ash stream through the weight specific magnetic susceptibility of the magnetizable fraction; f. using this normalized magnetic susceptibility as an indicator of the content of iron containing materials in the ash stream.

The invention relates to a system for recycling fluidized bed boiler bed material, comprising: a. a bottom ash removal device for removing bed material from a fluidized bed boiler, b. a mechanical classifier (10) comprising a mesh size from 200 to 1,000 µm designed to separate a coarse and a fine particle size fraction, c. a magnetic separator (12) designed to magnetically classify the fine particle fraction from the mechanical classifier, d. a device for recirculating the magnetic particle fraction into the boiler. The invention allows effective recirculation and reuse of ilmenite bed material.

The invention concerns a method and facility for CLC of a solid hydrocarbon feedstock which involves injecting the solid hydrocarbon feedstock in such a way as to limit any occurrence of the feedstock sticking to the walls of the injection device. The solid feedstock is introduced into a conveying area operating in a fluidised bed opening into a combustion reactor. A fluidising gas is injected into this conveying area, while controlling the flow of the gas such that the superficial gas velocity in the conveying area is greater than the terminal falling velocity of the particles of the solid hydrocarbon feedstock and the terminal falling velocity of solid particles located in the combustion reactor, and while controlling the temperature of the fluidising gas such that the temperature of the conveying area is less than or equal to 500 0 C.
