Eine Federwaage besteht im wesentlichen aus einer Meßfeder 1, einer Lastschale 2 zum Auflegen eines unbekannten Gewichts 3, einer Kolbensange 4 und einem induktiven Wegaufnehmer 8, welcher ein Meßsignal U m erzeugt. Es sind zwei elektrisch steuerbare Kraftglieder 13, 14 vorgesehen, welche jeweils aus einer stromdurchflossenen Spule 15, 16 und einem gemeinsamen Magnetkern 17, welcher an der Kolbenstange 4 befestigt ist, bestehen. Eine elektronische Steuerungseinheit 18 steuert die Kraftglieder 13, 14 in Abhängigkeit des Meßsignals U m so, daß diese kurzzeitig die bewegten Elemente mit parallel zur Richtung der Verlagerung wirkenden, jedoch von der Verlagerungsgeschwindigkeit nicht proportionalen Brems- bzw. Beschleunigungskräften beaufschlagen. Hierdurch lassen sich sehr wirksam die Einschwingvorgänge aktiv bedämpfen, so daß die neue Gleichgewichtslage in kürzestmöglicher Zeit erreicht wird. Es lassen sich Einstellzeiten von weniger als einem Viertel der Periodendauer des ungedämpften Systems realisieren.

The process measuring instrument comprises a sensor which may be fitted in the wall of a vessel containing a process medium and an electronics housing, mechanically coupled to the sensor, for the measuring instrument electronics. The electronics housing is at least temporarily subjected to vibrations generated by the sensor during operation, or transmitted by the sensor. In order to reduce the amplitude of oscillations for said vibrations of the electronics housing, at last one vibration damper is fixed to the wall of the electronics housing, which is at least temporarily set in oscillation to dissipate the oscillation energy transmitted to the electronics housing. The noise fraction in the measured signal can be reduced by the suppression of such housing vibrations such that a significant improvement in the signal to noise ratio in the measured signal can be detected.
