摘要: An array of complex shaped top fibers that each include an address electrode, barrier ribs to form a plasma channel and a phosphor coating on the plasma channel create structure in a plasma display panel. The top fiber array is disposed on the plate facing the viewer and the light generated by the phosphors must penetrate through the top fibers to the viewer. The top fibers can be composed of a colored material associated with the color phosphor layer to add color purity and contrast to the plasma panel. The sustain electrodes are placed on the plate facing away from the viewer and can be included in an array of fibers containing wire sustain electrodes. The sustain electrode surface does not need to be transmissive since the generated light is transmitted through the top fiber array. Therefore, the sustain electrodes can be composed of a reflective metal and cover the majority of the surface of the bottom plate. Covering a large percentage of the bottom plate with sustain electrodes causes the maximum spreading of the electric field and generates the highest plasma efficiency. The sustain electrode bottom plate or array can also be reflective to reflect both the UV light generated by the plasma back toward the phosphor layer and the visible light generated by the phosphor layer back toward the viewer.

摘要: Almost only choice by a secondary electron emission layer/protection layer covering the dielectric layer of an AC type PDP has been magnesium oxide (MgO) that is unstable during the production process and difficult to form, thus posing a serious production problem. An AC type PDP constructed such that, instead of covering the surface of a dielectric layer (3) with a dielectric material such as MgO, an insular electrode (4) is made by forming a conductive material such as nickel, aluminum, magnesium and lanthanum hexaboride into an insular shape, and the insular electrode (4) is allowed to capacity-couple with a lower-layer bus electrode (9) by means of an electrostatic capacity formed by a dielectric layer (3) to operate the insular electrode (4) as a sustained electrode.

摘要: A panel comprises a porous metal plate which has a plurality of holes used for display cells and made correspondingly to the positions where a first linear electrode group and a second linear electrode group intersect at given intervals, and a front glass plate. The diameters on the display side of the holes of the porous metal plate is larger than those of the back side, and the openings on the back side of the holes are closed with a molten inorganic dielectric substance to seal them hermetically; hence a thin, light and easily-assembled plasma display panel is provided.
