摘要:
An inflatable game ball and a method of constructing an inflatable game ball is described. Panel segments are formed from an outer panel portion and an inner panel portion having different sizes, with the inner panel portion being smaller than the outer panel portion. The inner panel portion and the outer panel portion are joined so that peripheral edges of the inner panel portion and the outer panel portion are aligned. Multiple panel segments are attached together to form a cover. Due to the differences in sizes between the inner panel portion and the outer panel portion, when an inflatable bladder within an interior of the cover is inflated to a fully inflated condition, variations in the dimensions of the ball caused by stretching of the cover may be reduced or minimized. In one embodiment, an alignment guide can assist with aligning the peripheral edges of the panel portions.

A sports ball having a high-performance cover formed from a plurality of panels with attached foam backing. The panels may be stitched together at stitch lines which are 2-4 mm from the edges of each of the panels. During manufacturing, before compression is applied, foam attached to outer layers for each of the panels may be a distance 2-6 mm away from the stitch lines. Foam attached on the inside of the sports ball may provide support and a robust round shape for manufacturing of a high performance sports ball.

Spheroidal polyester polymer particles, as well as preforms and stretch blow molded bottles made from the spheroidal particles, are provided which have: A) an lt.V. of at least 0.72 dL/g, and either B) at least two melting peaks (on a DSC first heating scan), wherein one of said at least two melting peaks is a low peak melting point having a peak temperature within a range of 140 °C to 220 °C and having a melting endotherm area of at least the absolute value of 1 J/g, or C) a low degree of crystallinity within a range of at least 20% and a maximum degree of crystallinity Tcmax defined by the equation: Tcmax = 50% - CA - OH where CA is the total mole % of all carboxylic acid residues other than terephthalic acid residues, based on 100 mole % of carboxylic acid residues in the polyester polymer, and OH is the total mole % of hydroxyl functional compound residues other than ethylene glycol residues, based on 100 mole % of the hydroxyl functional compounds residues; or both B) and C); and optionally but: preferably D) 10 ppm or less of residual acetaldehyde.

A DPS (dual pressure system) sport ball incorporating a special, environment friendly casing that forms an exterior surface of the ball, which is bonded to a multiple lining layers to form a laminated sheet. The laminated sheet is sized, printed, and cut out into specifically designed panels using highly optimized and automated specifically developed machines. The panel cut outs are stitched together using a special stitching machine and a specific, compatible bladder is incorporated in the ball. The partially machine stitched ball is then finally closed by manual stitching and the seams are protected with a special adhesive. Resultantly, due to unique construction materials, their unique arrangement, innovative technology, and highly automated manufacturing processes, the DPS sport ball has advantageous durability, playability, controllability and excellent flight characteristics. The DPS sport ball qualifies under the international standards of match/professional balls at a very competitive price.

The present invention concerns a method for manufacturing a three-dimensional composite object (21a, 21b, 21c), especially a sports article, comprising the steps: (a.) preparing a rotatable casting mold (11); (b.) filling of a first material (14) into the casting mold (11); (c.) filling of a second material (15) into the casting mold (11), wherein at least one of the materials (14, 15) is a polymer material; (d.) moving of the casting mold (11); and (e.) adapting of at least one process parameter during the performance of one or more of the preceding steps, so that a homogeneous distribution of the second material (15) in the manufactured composite object (21a, 21b, 21c) is achieved.
