摘要： The present invention is a ballpoint pen tip in which a tip end portion of a tip body, which includes a ball holding chamber configured to hold a ball, an ink circulation hole formed in a center of a bottom wall of the ball holding chamber, and a plurality of ink circulation grooves extending radially from the ink circulation hole, is caulked inside, so that a part of the ball held in the ball holding chamber projects from a tip end edge and the ball is rotatably held, wherein: a curved contact surface, which has a curvature different from a curvature of the ball, is provided on the bottom wall of the ball holding chamber, and the ball is to be in contact with a contact part which is a part of the contact surface; and between the ball and the contact surface, a first gap is formed to extend from a side of the ink circulation hole up to the contact part such that the first gap gradually narrows from the side of the ink circulation hole, and a second gap is formed to extend from a distal side of an ink circulation groove up to the contact part such that the second gap gradually narrows from the distal side of the ink circulation groove.

摘要： A thermochromic writing instrument and a writing body fitted to said thermochromic writing instrument, wherein the writing body comprises an ink storage tube having an outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter of the rotary member; a nib press fitted and fastened into a front end opening of the ink storage tube; a thermochromic ink filled in the ink storage tube; and a tail plug attached at a rear end opening of the ink storage tube, wherein the tail plug has about the same maximum outer diameter as an outer diameter of a rear of the ink storage tube, and is provided with a vent communicated with the inside of the ink storage tube. The writing body is stored in a barrel so as to become longitudinally movably in a backwardly biased condition; both the rear end of the ink storage tube and the tail plug are inserted into the rotary member; and the tail plug abuts on an inner surface of the rotary member.

摘要： A writing instrument 1 includes: a writing instrument body and an ink cartridge 6 connected to a rear end side of the writing instrument body. The ink cartridge 6 includes a bottomed cylindrical container 7 with an opened front end and a plug 8 fitted into an inner circumferential surface of an opening 72 of the container 7. The writing instrument body includes a projection 53 that opens the ink cartridge 6 when inserted into the opening 72 to press the plug 8 rearward and an air tight connecting portion 52, formed separately from the projection 53, that surrounds the projection 53. The opening 72 is divided into a plurality of openings by air tight fitting the opening 72 in the air tight connecting portion 52. Thus, a plurality of longitudinal channels are formed on an outer periphery of the projection 53. At least one of the plurality of channels serves as an ink channel and at least one of the other channels serves as an air intake path.

摘要： A device for marking a surface, the device comprising: a body configured to store a marking substance; a guide arrangement having a first end and a second end, at least a portion of an outer surface of the guide arrangement tapering from the first end to the second end which is narrower than the first end, wherein an output path is provided through the second end at substantially the centre of the guide arrangement; an activation arrangement; and a delivery arrangement which is configured, in response to triggering of the activation arrangement, to deliver a quantity of the marking substance from the body, along the output path and out of the second end, wherein, in use, a user inserts at least the second end of the guide arrangement into an aperture in an element positioned adjacent a surface until the outer surface of the guide arrangement contacts the aperture, and the user triggers the activation arrangement to deliver a quantity of the marking substance through the second end and onto the surface to mark the surface at a position which is substantially aligned with the centre of the aperture.

摘要： Provided are a ballpoint pen tip which can, even if ink having properties which assures that the amount of supply of the ink to the pen tip by shear of a writing ball is sufficient is adopted, prevent partially faint written traces from occurring and provide smooth writing, a ballpoint pen refill, a ballpoint pen, and a method of manufacturing a ballpoint pen tip. A triangular pyramid-shaped recess (42) gradually tapered toward an ink guide hole (36) is provided in the bottom of a ball housing (31), and troughs (44) formed in the recess (42) are utilized as ink reservoirs and ink paths. Because the troughs (44) have sufficient length, width, and depth, the amount of containment of the ink and the amount of supply of the ink are increased. Also, even if ink which is supplied to the pen point mainly by shear of a writing ball (2A) is adopted, the supply of the ink to the pen point is not interrupted, the occurrence of partially faint written traces of ink is sufficiently prevented, and friction between the writing ball and a ball receiving seat surface can be reduced.

摘要： An oil-based ink composition for a ballpoint pen which comprises a colorant, a resin and a solvent selected from among an alcohol having a vapor pressure at 25°C of 0.001 mmHg or higher, a polyhydric alcohol and a glycol ether as a main solvent accounting for 50 % or more of the total solvent, and satisfies at least one of the following (a) to (C): (a) further comprises a neutralized product of a phosphate ester and polypropylene glycol; (b) further comprises a chemical substance represented by the following formula (1) or (2): (1) wherein R represents an alkyl group having 10 to 30 carbon atoms, or (2) wherein R represents an alkyl group having 10 to 30 carbon atoms; and (c) comprises, as the above main solvent accounting for 50 % or more of the total solvent, a solvent selected from among an alcohol having no aromatic ring in the molecular structure thereof, a polyhydric alcohol and a glycol ether, and further comprises a neutralized mixed product of a phosphate ester and an additional solvent selected from among an alcohol having an aromatic ring, a polyhydric alcohol and a glycol ether in an amount of 0.1 to 15 wt % relative to the total amount of the ink composition; and a ballpoint pen using the oil-based ink composition. The ink composition allows the suppression of the blur in the beginning of writing and can provide a feeling of writing excellent in softness and smoothness.
