摘要: A shell plating developing method leading to reduction of the amount of machining and improvement of the efficiency in manufacturing the shell plating. In the shell plating developing method, a shell plating lattice system is constituted, the directions in which the curvature of a shell plating (P) at each lattice point of the shell plating system is maximum and minimum are determined (s102), a first connection line (L1) and a second connection line (L2) extending in the direction, out of the directions, in which the absolute value of the curvature is large and small are determined (s104), the first connection line (L1) is developed as a straight line on a flat plate (P") while the length of the first connection line (L1) is maintained, and the second connection line (L2) is developed as a line perpendicular to the line on a flat plate (P") in such a way that the integrated value of the amount of machining corresponding to the extension ratio or the shrinkage ratio of the second connection line (L2) is minimum.

摘要: A moulded plastics article 1 comprises a hollow body with a lower portion 2 and an upper portion 3. In a desired in-use orientation of the article, the lower portion 2 of the body is lowermost and the upper portion 3 is uppermost. The article has an integrally moulded ballast which in this case is in the form of a number of inwardly projecting ribs 10 which extend generally radially from the wall of the lower portion of the hollow body. The ribs 10 are of different lengths, the longer ribs being provided at the lowest section of the body and the radial extent of the ribs decreasing upwardly. The thickness of the outer wall of the hollow body and the thickness of the ribs 10 is substantially the same. Thus the article has substantially uniform wall thickness.

摘要: A metal plate assembly such as a vessel hull (10) is fabricated by securing longitudinal edges of aluminium hull plates (12, 14, 16) in position to prevent outward movement thereof. Adjacent longitudinal edges of the hull plates are welded together with sufficient heating to cause the welded hull plates to bow outwardly between the longitudinal edges. The convex outer surfaces (24) are placed in compression when the welded hull plates (12, 14, 16) cool to ambient temperature and ambient pressure on the inner and outer surfaces of the plates is equal. The resulting hull (10) can be curved into deeply bowed curvatures, and it provides the advantages of an outer surface in compression.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a hull for vessels, containers or equivalents. The method comprises the steps: preparing an elastic or viscoelastic glue through mixing of at least two components; monitoring and/or controlling the mixing for determining if a correct desired mixing product has been achieved; applying a layer of the glue onto the hull (2) or on a first side of a sheet (4) of cellular plastic or other light weight material; mounting the sheet onto the hull, the sheet being equipped with a multiplicity of through-going air evacuation holes (12); placing an air permeable material (6) on top of the other side of the sheet (4), mounting a vacuum foil (8) onto the other side of the sheet; gluing by vacuum suction; observing visually if the glue exits out of the air evacuation holes on the other side of the sheet.
