摘要:
The present invention relates to a drive device (30), particularly for a flexible impact blade (40), which is configured on a side such that the same can be connected to a drive (15), and which has a flexible element (1) that is configured substantially in the shape of a wedge, having at least two flexible sections (3, 4) that are at a distance to each other on the side of the drive (15), the distance from each other of which is reduced in the direction away from the drive (15), and which are coupled in the region of the end of the flexible element (1) facing away from the drive in a power transmitting manner. In order to create an elastic flexible blade and a drive device therefore, wherein a continuous change of shape can be adjusted using a flowing contour transition, the invention provides that the flexible sections (3, 4) on the side of the drive (15) are kept substantially movable relative to each other along the longitudinal axis of the wedge, and that the flexible element (1) is configured on the side of the drive (15) such that it may be transferred to a different curvature pointing in the direction of thickness of the flexible impact blade (40) as a function of the relative position of the flexible sections (3, 4). The invention further relates to a flexible impact blade (40) having such a drive device (30) and a watercraft (50) comprising a drive and/or control element.

A wave-powered water vehicle includes a surface float, a submerged swimmer, and a tether which connects the float and the swimmer, so that the swimmer moves up and down as a result of wave motion. The swimmer includes one or more fins which interact with the water as the swimmer moves up and down, and generate forces which propel the vehicle forward. The vehicle, which need not be manned, can carry communication and control equipment so that it can follow a course directed by signals sent to it, and so that it can record or transmit data from sensors on the vehicle.

The device comprises a double paddle body (14) which may rotate about two shafts (8, 9) which are perpendicular to each other and are also perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (21) of the body, said longitudinal axis being itself unfixed in the space. The shaft (8, 9) may pivot in two arcuate supports (6, 7) which swivel in two hinges (4, 5) arranged at the end of two rotary shafts (2, 3). The rotation in opposite directions of said two shafts (2, 3) gives a paddle motion to the body (14) which simultaneously rotates about its longitudinal axis (21).

A curved body (830), for propelling fluids, crafts and harvesting fluid power, comprises a convex outer leading surface securely connected to a concave inner trailing surface to define an open vessel. Upon oscillation, ambient fluids are accelerated and ejected from the vessel to propel the vessel and the ambient fluids in opposite directions. Apparatus is secured to a motive power source directly or via actuating member (832), by fastening through aperture (834). The oscillating propulsor can be operated directly by a reciprocating motive power source, and indirectly by the reaction momentum imparted to a supporting base. Thrust may be vectored by rotation of the curved body (830) about the supporting base. Drag reduction using fluid dynamic shapes, intake openings, a fore fin (844), an aft fin (846), and a lubricant cavity, are embodied. Enhanced propulsion using multistage oscillating propulsors is embodied.

A human propelled watercraft having a pair of flexible fins supported by a mast extending into the water each adapted to oscillate through an arcuate path in a generally transverse direction with respect to the central longitudinal dimension of said watercraft. Pedals are provided for applying input force whereby as input force is applied, the flexible fins can twist to form an angle of attack for providing forward thrust with respect to the longitudinal dimension of the watercraft while moving in both directions along the arcuate path. Each of the fins preferably is composed of a layer of stiff and durable material that is wrapped around the mast. The two layers of material touch at the trailing edge and they are free to slide relative to each other. Preferably, each of the fins is provided with adjustable tensioning at the tip of the mast.
