[Solving Means] In a production method for a plasma display panel constituted of a front substrate including a scanning electrode, a sustaining electrode, a dielectric layer, and a protective layer, and a back substrate including an address electrode, a barrier rib, and a phosphor, a temperature of a glass substrate before being subjected to vapor deposition in an electron beam vapor deposition apparatus is set at room temperature (120°C or less), and an MgO deposition rate of the electron beam vapor deposition apparatus is set to be 8000 Å*m/min or more. By the deposition at room temperature, an MgO layer equivalent to that obtained by conventional deposition at high temperature can be obtained.

    摘要: Disclosed is a plasma display panel which is characterized by having a front plate wherein a dielectric layer (8) is so formed as to cover a display electrode formed on a front glass substrate and a protective layer (9) is formed on the dielectric layer (8), and a back plate so arranged as to face the front plate for forming a discharge space, on which back plate an address electrode is formed in the direction intersecting the display electrode and a partition wall is provided for dividing the discharge space. This plasma display panel is also characterized in that the protective layer (9) is obtained by forming a base film (91) on the dielectric layer (8), and having agglomerated particles (92), wherein a plurality of crystal particles composed of a metal oxide are agglomerated, adhere to the base film (91) in such a manner that the agglomerated particles (92) are distributed all over the base film (91).
