PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an optically active cyclic α-amino acid half ester. SOLUTION: The optically active cyclic α-amino acid half ester is obtained by selectively hydrolyzing only one of the ester parts of a cyclic α-amino acid diester represented by formula (1) [two alkoxycarbonyl are at cis positions to a nitrogen containing ring; R 1 is a (saturated) alkyl or aralkyl; R 2 is a (saturated) or unsaturated alkyl or aralkyl which may contain a halogen, N or O; and (n) is an integer of 1-3] in a buffer solution in the presence of carboxylesterase (E.C. 3.1.1.1). PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the battery characteristics, such as cycle properties, preservation stability of a lithium battery composed of a polymer electrolyte composition, having superior lithium deposition/dissolution efficiency and ionic conductivity. SOLUTION: The polymer electrolyte composition which comprises (1) the main chain comprising polyolefin, poly siloxane or polyphosphazene, a side-chain comprising a polymer having a polyoxyethylene structure, (2) an additive comprising a low molecular weight compound, if necessary, (3) a lithium salt compound, and (4) a cyclic carbonate, having an unsaturated group is the electrolyte composition superior in the lithium deposition/dissolution efficiency and ionic conductivity. The presence of the cyclic carbonate (4), having an unsaturated group enables side reactions between an electrode and an electrolyte to be suppressed, and to provide a secondary battery having superior battery characteristics, such as cycle properties, preservation stability. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for easily producing a hologram which can reproduce a reproduced image with high fidelity to a target reproduced image. SOLUTION: After an element hologram is once recorded in a local area 25 of a photosensitive material 34, only reference light in object light and reference light enters the local area 25 in a certain period to generate reproducing light from the local area 25 to give a reproduced image, which is photographed by a camera 37. The photographed reproduced image is compared with a target reproduced image and a corrected image according to the result of comparison is sent to a spatial optical modulation element 17. The output light from the spatial optical modulator element 17 where the corrected image is sent enters as object light to the local area 25, while the reference light enters the local area 25. SOLUTION: In the method for adsorbing to remove mercury by bringing the high-temperature exhaust gas containing mercury into contact with an adsorbent made by adsorbing a chelating agent capable of forming a chelating compound with mercury onto an activated carbon, the method for removing mercury is carried out while maintaining a water content of the adsorbent not less than an amount required for mercury adsorption.
