Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive compsn. enabling adhesion between a material of a low polarity, e.g. a polyolefin material, and other materials. SOLUTION: This compsn. comprises an aqueous resin dispersion obtained by polymerizing at least one kind of polymerizable unsaturated monomer contg. an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated bond, in the presence of an aqueous polyurethane resin dispersion obtained from a polyol, contg. a polyester polyol obtained by ring-opening addition polymerization of lactones to dimethylolbutanoic acid as an initiator, a polyisocyanate compd., and a chain extender.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous adhesive composition for obtaining excellent weathering resistance and adhesion thereof by reacting a polyol with an organic polyisocyanate in an unsaturated monomer containing no active hydrogen to synthesize a polyurethane having not more than a specific number-average molecular weight, further providing a copolymer of an unsaturated monomer having a glass transition temperature not more than certain value, preparing an aqueous dispersion of a polyurethane solution from them, and radical polymer izing the dispersion. SOLUTION: A number-average molecular weight of a polyurethane is made to be not more than 20,000 and a glass transition temperature as a copolymer of an unsaturated monomer is regulated to be not more than -20 deg.C. It is preferable that polyethylene glycol and an ionizable polyol are made to be essential components for the preparation of the polyurethane. Further, it is preferable that the polyurethane is obtained by reacting a polyester polyol and a polyether polyol with an organic polyisocyanate in the presence of two kind of catalysts. In the solid content of an obtained aqueous urethane composite resin, the polyurethane is preferable in 5-80 wt.%.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject coating material rich in flexibility and elasticity by adding a functional grafted polyurethane obtained by graft-polymerizing a specific monomer to a main chain comprising a specific polyurethane to form side chains. SOLUTION: This coating raw material used for adhesives, coatings or the like comprises a functional grafted polyurethane obtained by graft-polymerizing (B) a monomer of the formula to (A) a main chain comprising a polyurethane prepared by the reaction of (i) a diol having one or more double bonds in the molecule with (ii) a diisocyanate (for example, 4,4-methylenediphenyldiisocyanate) to form side chains. The component i is preferably a diol having one or more vinyl groups in the molecule, especially polybutadienediol having vinyl groups at the ends (side chains). For the synthesis reaction of the polyurethane, a polymer diol such as hydrogenated polybutadienediol or a polyesterdiol may together be used.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adhesive being producible by an abridged process, being low-cost, having excellent adhesiveness and rustproofing properties and good application properties, and used for polyolefin resins and polyolefin films. SOLUTION: There are provided an adhesive composition prepared by mixing (I) a resin solution prepared by grafting an ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the presence of (A) a polyolefin resin and (B) an epoxy or phenoxy resin with (II) a curing agent; an adhesive composition as described above, wherein the ethylenically unsaturated monomer contains an ethylenically unsaturated dibasic acid monomer or an anhydride thereof; and an adhesive composition as described above, wherein curing agent (II) is a phenolic resin or a blocked isocyanate compound.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit connection material for electrical and electronic components, being more excellent in low-temperature rapid curability than a conventional epoxy resin system and having a suitable pot life and reduced corrosiveness of circuits. SOLUTION: The circuit connection material is interposed between opponent circuit electrodes and in which the electrodes are electrically connected to each other in the direction of pressure when pressure is applied to them, and essentially contains (1) a curing agent which generates free radicals when heated, (2) a hydroxyl-containing resin having a molecular weight of 10,000 or above, (3) a radically polymerizable substance, and (4) allyl methacrylate. It is desirable that the curing agent has a 10-hr half-life temperature of 40°C or above and a 1-min half-life temperature of 180°C or below. COPYRIGHT: (C)1999,JPO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pressure-sensitive adhesive causing no problems of adhesive characteristics, environmental pollution, safety and hygiene, and further water resistance by using a polyurethane-acrylic polymer composite material. SOLUTION: This pressure-sensitive adhesive composition of aqueous dispersion type is produced by obtaining a urethane prepolymer containing carboxyl groups, mixing the above urethane prepolymer with an acrylic monomer in a ratio of from 1:9 to 9:1 by weight, neutralizing the mixture with a base, dispersing the neutralized product in water, adding a polyamine to the aqueous dispersion to extend the chain length of the above urethane prepolymer, and further adding an initiator for a radical polymerization to polymerize the above acrylic monomer.
